Oh! I literally gave a little yelp of surprise today when I weighed in. =)
Yesterday I was hungry and ate more calories than my plan - but I am still figuring out how many calories I should eat. One app says 1357,this one 1900 and another 2200 so I think 1500 is ok. Nonetheless, after having just come off of losing less than .5lb after 6 days I was hoping to stay the same - but to lose a full pound was a nice surprise!
I have officially lost 10lbs - which was my first goal - and I am at day 13 of this diet! **I am so happy!**
The bonus for me, is that last night I did not cave. My husband wanted me to cave and applied just a small amount of pressure but I stood strong and I was very pleasantly rewarded with weigh loss!

I smiled at that scale this morning! So very happy to see movement for the first time in 7 days but grateful it didn’t happen UNTIL I realized that I was self sabotaging. Happy to continue with this weight loss journey! 💕

One lesson my father tried to teach me over and over is that the only thing I can control is my reaction to events. I am still disappointed that it has been 6 days with no weight change. But I am thrilled that I am down 8lbs. I have experimented and added calories and I know that I have to be diligent with this process. It isn't about what I weigh today - it is about me continuing to try, refusing to give up, and ultimately forgetting about the scale.
A win - my doctor is going to allow me to come in for labs to test to see if I have reached ketosis! Super happy about that! When I started this weight loss journey - I was over 100lbs too heavy according to the doctor and eligible for surgery. I did balloon up to 225 but I will not look healthy - EVER - at 125. I am a person with muscles mass and I have learned, that despite the fact that I am short I am big boned. So my goal is 135 or just looking great!
It is not about the scale - a number - or not losing for 6 days. It is about the process, doing my best, and not giving up!
EDIT: During my walk today I realized I do actually have some control/blame here. (1) I have only walked/been active for 3 of the last 6 days and (2) I have poorly followed my diet 2 of the last 6 days. This is all my fault for not sticking to my keto plan. Keto takes days to accomplish and if I fail my diet then I stop my forward progress. If I want to be disappointed, then there really is only one place to look.

Alright - my entry for the day was lost once - this is my second attempt and at least it will be more succinct.
I have weighed myself daily - just once - to ensure I was on track. I failed my self challenge to not weigh in until I was walking for 60 minutes each day but I allowed it because I wanted to make sure this self-planned diet was working. Anyway, today is day 9 and I am down 8lbs but I have stayed the same weight for 3 days. And that is ok.
I realized a basic concept that is hard for me - but I am doing it! We feel better about ourselves when we prioritize ourselves. I don't really do this but I am starting and I am really proud of myself and I am getting happier! (Didn't realize I was not as happy as I am becoming but yay for improvement)
Despite my neck injury flaring up at full force on Monday I am feeling good physically. The neck does not hurt when I walk - actually for the first time the pain actually went away while I was walking yesterday.
So I give this day a 10 - I will continue to follow my diet plan, continue to push myself to prioritize myself and continue to research keto and my best diet plan. I am wondering if I actually need more calories. I have used two apps and both recommended a higher calorie content but I have found eating my plan to be hard too. Maybe I can just add an avocado (240 Calories) and also increase my fat content. We shall see.
