There we go! Now that's what I'm talking about! Actually, yesterday I weighed in at 121. But, it's what I like to call a "throw away" weigh-in. There was definitely some water and waste that hadn't seen the light of day. This body is still working to balance itself out after dealing with "tummy troubles". I don't even weigh in if I haven't taken a BM in the morning or if there's nothing to write home about because it's kind of pointless to assess one's average weight if you know there's a whole lot of waste in the mix.

This morning's more of an accurate indication of where I'm sitting as I had a routine day yesterday for cal intake and a lower body workout session along with 40 minutes of cardio on the bike. And, of course this morning I had my typical morning visit to the bathroom. The Happy Scale gives me an average of 120.1 right now and that sounds good to me.

Lower body workout went well. I really am enjoying splitting the reps into 5 sets. It genuinely helps me to focus on form and I find it flows much faster. It's weird because it actually adds on a few more minutes, but it doesn't feel that way. I was even able to reduce rest times between sets, which is always a plus. It kind of fools the brain, too. I don't readily feel sore right after, but the next day I'm feeling it all over. I also find this rep scheme gives me more space to focus on that mind to muscle connection rather than revert to using momentum when the fatigue hits.

Oh, and just to address a few things from the last post. I do take a pro-biotic everyday. It's advised to use it with the medication I take with MS as the meds can indeed cause the gut biome to be a bit off. But, I also take in kim-chi a few times a week because the bottom line is fermented things are good for your gut. I may try to a tablespoon of lemon juice in my water. I used to always drink water with a slice of lemon in it until I found out just how dirty lemon peels can be. But, I'm often squeezing lemon juice or zest for something I bake so perhaps I'll give it try. After doing some reading on digestion and aging - there are a few other things I'm giving a go with in terms with "how" I ingest my food. I'll report back after a bit to see if there's any improvements.

Anyhow, not too much else going on. It's a recovery day and I'm getting ready to sit down for morning meditation. I read one of my favorite quotes the other morning from one my spiritual teachers that always melts my heart when I read it - So, I will leave you all with this and wish you a very blessed and loving day :-)

So, yesterday morning I woke up with a sour stomach and found myself hugging the porcelain god for a moment. It wasn't monumental, but it was enough to take a rest day and be kind to my tummy. We don't think it was food poisoning because my mother ate the exact same things I have and was fine. It almost felt like my stomach was over-producing acid and my stomach said, "oh no, we're going to get rid of this...".

I don't have a gull bladder - it was removed when I was 17 years old. So, my digestive tract has to moderate its own production of bile. I'm noting as I get older and have these surplus days, they really seem to mess with my digestive systems ability to produce acid. It's either too much or too little. I only had 2400 plus cals on Friday and burned 2905 by the end of the day from a long cycle session. I was still working off some good fuel from July 4.

I've had way worse sour stomachs. It didn't land me in bed all day, though it washed me out. And, I was actually able to ingest as much as I burned yesterday, which was around 1520 cals. Now you all know what I really burn when I'm sedentary. And, I wasn't even all that sedentary. I managed to make our Ricotta cheese and do small simple chores I like to keep up with. Either way, that would be the reason for this drop.

I'm feeling much better today though still a bit discombobulated and washed out. Likely need some more cals. I would normally do a 40 minute cycle session and lower body today. But, I'm going to do a long session on the bike again and then slip in strength and weights tomorrow. Believe it or not, Cardio is less strenuous for me. I can moderate the RPM's on the bike. Lifting weights after tummy troubles is speculative because it zaps the central nervous system (not in a bad way). But, if coordination is already a bit sloppy - lifting a weight isn't necessarily optimal when you have MS. So, we're going to give the lower body another day to recoup. I'm set to increase to the 60 rep mark 5X12. So, I want to be cautious.
