So, talked with my dietitian on Thursday and one of my goals for this week is to drop my RDI goal to 1400 a day (had been 2000 on Fat Secret). I figured out how to change that on here and I think it is doable. The other goal was mindful eating (instead of eating in front of my computer or the TV). We agreed to start with breakfast.

So this morning I cleaned out the breakfast nook, at least enough to make it an agreeable place to have a meal, cooked myself 2 hard-boiled eggs, and enjoyed a breakfast at the table looking out on my back-yard jungle. Usually see some birds and squirrels, but they were absent this morning. At least there were nice trees and plants to look at and I enjoyed my breakfast. I enjoyed even more having accomplished cleaning out an area I've been closing my eyes to for some time now.

I think it's all about doing things for ourselves and feeling good about it rather than guilty that we're taking time away from something else. I didn't expect talking to a dietitian would help me change things about myself other than diet, but sometimes you just have to realize that it's okay to think about yourself.
