I have no idea if this is correct since one scale never moves and the other is a bit erratic. However, because of the inconsistency, I am using clothes as my guide. The pants I am wearing are huge now. They barely fit the last time I tried them on, after I had already lost considerable weight. So I know I am losing inches. I can feel it all over. However, yesterday, the scale showed no loss. And the other scale was the same for what felt like months, or perhaps 6 weeks. I needed to vent and went online to a WW person to just chat about it. I was doing everything right, which I knew, so it wasn't for food advice. I just needed a cheering squad since my husband thinks that this is maintenance for me and I look fine compared to where I was. That isn't the point. It is just that this is a number that has always been impossible to break since I was in my late forties , post menopause and concurrent with a hypothyroid diagnosis. I just want to be a reasonable weight, not what I was in my 30's. Of course, it would be lovely to look like that all over, but it isn't happening . I am lucky I don't look my age now at 70. So I am using these pants I am wearing as my guide. I will also find something else which almost fits me and try that on weekly.

When I posted my last weight, it was with a defective scale. Even now, I have two that don't match, by several pounds. So I am putting this since I feel like I am at least this or less and not more. I put 100 percent down since I tracked daily and as honestly as I could on vacation but can't get recipes to really see when I consumed in fat they may have used. I ate breakfast and dinner out daily, except when we ate leftovers in our suite. So I was 100 percent in my tracking.
I weighed 2 lbs less on the heavy scale when I got back, so whatever my real starting weight was, I lost two pounds. I am really determined to get five pounds off this month. I would love to really surprise my endocrinologist. I guess I should be proud that I survived all of the holidays plus a major cruise vacation and almost two week vacation to Florida. If I can do that, I can do anything.
It is frustrating to really not see the scale show significant loss in three months. But to keep motivated, I thought about what it would be if I were not on a program.
Wish me luck on my journey. I am not weighing in for a month.

Well, the weight listed above is incorrect according to my working scales, but my body is the size I would be at that weight. That is what keeps me going. I am going on a vacation to visit family in Florida. I pulled out summer clothes from last summer. Everything was very big, but the kinds of shirts, linen blend, won't matter if big. The pants had been tight and are loose now, but don't look terrible. I know I have lost weight. I have been very constipated lately and retaining fluid. The best I can do is stay focused on the end game, better health and appearance. According to my unbroken scale, I am 5-7 lbs more than listed. I will post my weight again when I equal what is up there.
A friend was talking to me telling me I was crazy to go on a cruise and stay on my diet and to go out and eat with them and calculate everything. I told her that once you have a weight problem, you always have one. Going off for me isn't the pound or two it might be for someone else. I need to consider whether a two week cruise and a 10 lb weight gain, which COULD have happened had I been drinking more than one glass of wine a day and eating desserts and a third meal, would have been worth months of super strict dieting just to get back to where I was. I decided before I went that it would not happen. I also intend to stay on my program when we leave tomorrow for Florida. I will know when I return, although I need to give it a day or two after to get off water weight. Restaurant food is highly seasoned.

Finally, it came off. Now I feel I might be on a roll again. I feel bad because I can make my husband miserable with not wanting to eat out, (not that he eats much or minds saving money), but just to go out, and not wanting to go on another vacation so soon. I told him I was not losing weight despite trying and needed to know exactly what was going in my mouth. Well, now that I got the weight off, I won't make him miserable when we go to Florida to visit Family in early March. My husband does not know what it is like to always have to watch what you put in your mouth. The fact that I am a post- menopausal hypothyroid woman who struggled to lose (or maintain a reasonable weight) throughout her early years and continued the struggle well into my 50's, 60's and now the beginning of my 70's, does not register with him. His entire family never had a weight problem. I remember his elderly sister visiting us one summer and eating twice what I ate. She would say she did not understand why I had a weight problem since she watched what I ate. Well, that's life. That is my genetic makeup. So, I am trying to work on my mindset. I can't go through the rest of my life avoiding vacations and eating out for fear of gaining weight. I just have to be reasonable about it. So, I am in for the long run and accepting small weight losses. On a plus side, I saw a picture of me with my almost 16 yr old granddaughter when she was 3. I was much bigger than I was when I started this round of dieting.
