Okay, what the heck? Tracking 100%, even down to my sugar free chewing gum and gained 2 lbs overnight. And made a point to add in my daily exercise that I had previously been slacking on. I don't get it. I am going to stick with the plan, since its only been 2 days, but geez.

Over the last few years my diet cycle has been to lose weight eating low carb, give up on low carb, and then gain it all back. I know years ago I started with low carb because CICO on its own didn't seem to work for me. Since then, I have always had in my mind that I am carb sensitive and can't lose weight eating carbs. I'm hoping that I just was not good at tracking honestly back then and now will be better. Maybe there is just a water weight balance that I need to reach after restarting on carbs again, then I will see scale changes in the right direction.

Has anyone else experienced initial weight gain after switching from low carb to CICO with more carbs?

So yesterday was my first day with the 1200 cal CICO method. I really enjoyed my food yesterday. Having toast with my eggs was AMAZING. Being low carb for so long you can almost pretend that you don't miss bread, but one bite into it and I was like "OMG! Where have you been all my life?" It really was that good.

I did notice more hunger pangs than with keto (a lot of keto days were less than 1200 cal just from lack of hunger). I used to not get hungry until lunch time, so 16:8 IF was easy. This morning I had my breakfast at 8am because I was hungry as soon as I got up. I am going to try for a larger percentage of calories from protein today to try and help with the hunger, along with increasing my water intake. I'll give it a few days and see how I feel. If I'm still feeling so hungry all day, I might raise my calories. My BMR is 1941 with no activity, so according to CICO, I should be able to eat up to 1500 calories and still lose about 1 lb a week. Overall, I feel good about changing my WOE and look forward to seeing the outcome.

Update: I just realized that I did not update my RDI to the 1200. I still had it set to 1400. So yesterday's hunger was on 1333 calories. Not sure how I missed that, but oh well.
