So, my little excursion with my husband for his birthday yesterday cost me 7/10 of a pound in the wrong direction, but we had fun and I don't feel I'll have any problem getting back on track today.
Today we'll have lunch with my father-in-law at Lucille's, a barbecue place, but we've been there many times before and I already know several healthy and delicious things I can have. Like grilled shrimp. I hope they still have collard greens as an available side. I'm sure they don't prepare them the way I would, but still better than fries.

It's been a pretty good week as far as eating goes. Today is a planned "skip" day since it's my husband's 64th birthday and I know he's been missing our pizza and/or wings excursions. But not an excuse to give up all my hard work. Tomorrow I'll be back on track, and even today I'll make some good choices by making sure there's a salad involved. We're on vacation for a week (stay-cation) so I'm going to try to be a local tourist and get some walking in as well.
All in all I feel I'm making progress and I want that to continue. I have another doctor visit in less than 2 weeks so I want to see her smile when she looks at my weight.

Feeling much more positive today, even though the scale doesn't seem to be changing at all. My doctor put me on a new medicine last week that I seem to be having some problems adjusting to - being tired all the time and really down. I think I may be adjusting now. I really am a positive person by nature, so when I'm feeling very negative I try to look and see what has changed recently. Any more very down feelings and the doctor will get a call about the medicine.
I like brown rice and I had bought a couple of those heat-and-eat cups to try. The first one I tried I really didn't care for. Thought I'd give it another chance today and read the microwave instructions more carefully. Last time I added a little water. Turns out you're not supposed to add water at all! This cup was very good. Guess I thought it was like instant oatmeal!

Back in the right direction, though it was better in the middle of the week. I was off yesterday afternoon and had one of those days I haven't had since I started this current way of eating - I was hungry and wanted to eat everything in the house and then go out and get some more. I did pick up a turkey sub, mustard, no mayo, and lots of veggies at the grocery store on the way home. I found myself enough distractions to keep busy, had a healthy afternoon snack, and then kept telling myself it wasn't that long before dinner, have a glass of water.
Got through it, and I feel much more positive today, and the weekend is on the way, yeah!

I've been so tired lately. When I leave work, I feel like I need to pull over and take a nap before I get home, and I only live 20 miles away! Better this morning - finally got a good night's sleep and actually woke up before the alarm.
Also feeling better because I finally started coming down off a small plateau and heading in the right direction on the scales. Looking forward to my weigh-in on Friday morning. I had lunch yesterday with a friend and had the roast beef sandwich with mustard, no mayo. Still did not realize how much fat there is in most roast beef. It was good though, and I had the fruit instead of the fries, so not going to worry about the extra fat.
