I'm not surprised by a slight increase this week and actually glad that I managed to keep it from being worse. I had a couple of off days as far as the diet goes, including a "meet-up" with some people I hadn't met before that are involved in my profession. It was a social event and something both my husband and I could participate in.

We've become such recluses that I felt encouraged that he wanted to go and we did have a good time. Unfortunately, the social part of it meant meeting at one of those trendy breweries to sample local craft beers. I had three watermelon beers which was definitely one too many since I did not sleep well that night. And the place had NO food so next time we'll go prepared.

At any rate that, and meeting a dear friend I hadn't seen for years for lunch yesterday and then going out to dinner did not help the diet. At least I stayed away from the fried stuff and stopped eating when I was not hungry. Saved me from a drastic increase. It's a new week and I am determined to get those numbers dropping again. Have a great and healthy 4th of July!

Coming up on the last of the marathon weekend work through the night things. I've actually adjusted to it somewhat after insisting on getting a day off during the week if I work Saturday night-Sunday morning. Which is a good thing, since this seems to be the new norm.

Yesterday I was off, and since the house had very little food, I went grocery shopping. It's a real luxury to go when I haven't just completed a long work day, but even so, it's not one of my favorite things to do. Made the mistake of going hungry, and ended up with chicken tenders and macaroni salad for lunch. But at least I only had 3 chicken tenders and put the rest away for breakfast this morning. I did enough housework to compensate and ended up with a weight loss for the day.

Friday lunch bunch day. My friends support what I'm doing so that makes it easier to order something healthy.
