I need opinions.

I am not hungry today. Really just not. Idk why, I don't feel sick. My peak flow is down a little, but no more then it has been lately. I ate a few strawberries but they just didn't taste all that great(which is weird for me, I LOVE fruit). Had some coffee also for breakfast (breakfast of champions, lol). Around lunch time I still wasn't hungry, but to balance out the fruit carbs I ate a half cup of cottage cheese and put it down as a snack, assuming I'd be hungry for lunch soon. It's 2:45 and I'm still actively not wanting to eat. Idk, maybe I'm getting sick. My stomach isn't upset, but it simply feels full still since the cottage cheese and nothing really sounds appetizing.

What do you do in this situation? Do you eat anyways? Do you just let it be. I'm a big proponent of eating when hungry... I'm not so sure what to do about not being hungry or wanting to eat, when I'm halfway through my day at 128 calories o.0 I mean, I never eat a ton early in the day- but I'm normally around 500 calories for the day by dinner time (and then eat another 600-800 for dinner). So 128 is just way to low.

What would you do? Just ride it out and assume my body knows what it's doing, or eat something anyways?

Every case study I've looked at on the slowing metabolism thing requires 3 or 4 days at the very least befor there are any effects on the metabolism. That makes since when you consider that we sleep for 6-12 hours at time (depending the person and what stage in their life they are in) and the fact that historically we would not have had 'eat at 7am, eat at noon, eat at 5pm" diets because when food was available would be when we ate. So I respectfully disagree, based on my own research, that not eating as much for one day that I am actively not hungry on will have any sort of impact on my metabolism. Thank you very much for your concern though, I appreciate it.

Sophie, I agree. Thank you Vickie, this is certainly a learning experience =) Alex, that's my understanding from the research I've seen as well. LoreJae- that's basically what I'm doing. I still am not really hungry but just eating fruit and etc so I'm getting some calories and just letting it be. I like to listen to my body on this stuff, and I really appreciate the encouragement and being able to hear from others who have had similar days without ill effect. I am sure it will all balance itself out and my body is just focusing on something else atm I don't completely understand =p

If you're not hungry....don't eat. If you get hungry later in the day, eat some protein. As to your metabolism, don't sweat it. We evolved to eat when food was available. Fasting will help reset your hormones and get your body back into a normal healthy state. Intermittent fasting will help to reverse insulin resistance.

I would listen to your body and just make sure you drink enough and that you feel good!

In that situation, I usually drink only like a glass of milk because when we sleep, we go lots and lots of hours without eating anything so my rationale is that, it's better to put something small in your stomach to keep your metabolism going and THEN, if I'm still not hungry, then I don't eat until I am. But I usually get hungry after doing it lol. :) That usually happens to me. I found that, the times I decided not to eat anything, I would get very hungry after like 1 hour or two and I rather not reach that state :) I prefer to keep the hunger in check heheh.

I'm referring only to the cases of not being hungry right after waking up :) When I'm not hungry during the day (I had already eaten breakfast etc) then I only eat when I'm hungry :)

Problem solved: I ate some ice cream =) it put me above 1000 calories for the day and I don't have to feel bad about eating the ice cream =p win win =)

Perfect;-) and good job on not going over your calories on it I tend to not be able to stop eating it once I start!lol
