It's 100 percent calories, especially if you compare fat and carbs. Protein on the other hand has a much higher thermic effect and is the superior macro.

It depends on a lot of things. Can be the same calories while eating popcorn and then chicken/veggies. Do you get the same benefits? Nope. And for the thermic effect, it depends if you are endo, meso or ecto. Let's fight :)))

Carbs are actually superior to fats if you want to stave off fat gain. Superior energy source to provide better fuel for workouts, it's muscle sparing, it has a slightly higher thermic effect, and doesn't turn directly into body fat like fat does. It takes a special process for that to happen called de novo lipogenesis.

Somatotypes is made up BS. Now I understand, you're working with outdated "science". And I already explained the macro difference so yes, your example is valid. Chicken will always be better than butter or straight bread but carbs and fats are still necessary to be optimal in body composition goals.

Gosh Diablo, I know what de novo lipogenesis is. This is like from 90s? But I hope you do realise that most people don't calculate shit like we do? They just want to get rid of their lbs and be healthy. So let's be simple. Calories matter, ok. But quality matter too. Peace.

Get your fat for healthy hormone function and focus on protein to have favorable lean body mass retention or gain and you don't have to wrack your brain on any other details besides good nutrition and fiber which carb sources are great for. Stay within your calories and you're good to go.
