A lot of this is water loss. I've been sick with the stomach flu the last few days. But, folks that have autoimmune diseases know, levels of inflammation in the body go high during this time and water retention prevails. In the normal "able-bodied" persons world, fat loss is celebrated. In the auto-immune world, both fat loss and water loss is celebrated because it lets us know our inflammation and monocyte levels are returning to the high side of normal. This was a rough one and my first flu with an MS dx. Man oh man, that was some pain. Ya know it's going to be a rough one when Oxycodin, lorazepam, and muscle relaxers only take the pain from about an 11 to an 8. But, I'm through it, thank goodness.
