For most of you ... you know this day as "income tax due date" ... not exactly a wonderful day. But for me? This is a very special day! Today I celebrate being 51 years young!!! [i]51 years AND under 200 lbs. [/i] Very cool!! The posts yesterday were poignant and helped me focus on what is REALLY important. I thank my good friends here who take the time to post their thoughts and also to reply so thoughtfully. It means so much to me. It IS the first time in my life I have had this kind of support and understanding in healing my body and mind. Like I've said so many times before, losing the weight isn't the most challenging struggle. Yes, it is a struggle but not the most difficult. Changing my automatic thought patterns, my warped body image, my self defeatist attitude is much more difficult. Being able to talk "out loud", so to speak, about those processes has been invaluable!! Finding friends who understand is priceless!! So, today on my birthday a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have taken the time to read my journal entries and respond. YOU have helped on my journey, perhaps more than you will ever realize. And, the journey just goes on and on and on ... rather exciting I think!!! Have a wonderful, healthy day and be KIND to yourselves!!!

Happy Birthday to you. I don't usually post on peoples journals, but I have read all of yours they are very inspirational??. You have a great attitude and can do anything with it. Thank you for allowing us to take this journey with you. Keep up the good work and spreading your great cheer to all.

Thanks for the kind words Angel!! For me ... this has been sometimes a very painful and dissapointing journey. I am so grateful to be able to recognize the "good" in myself and others ... so grateful to my mom who has loved me from the beginning and my husband who (even though he thinks he doesn't do enough for me) by loving me has helped me embrace so much more life!! Sometimes I felt VERY ALONE ... my secret (well I guess now it isn't a secret anymore!!) hope is that someone else will connect with what I write and not feel so all alone at a younger age than me!! LOL!! Again, thanks!!!

This entry is so heartfelt and sincere. You are a great person, carol, and for all your care and concern you deserve all your buddies' support in return.
