Yesterday was nice. Went and re-registered with this staffing company then took the kids for shots, then the dentist, then shopping. We bought all the kids school supplies, some new underwear, and socks and shoes. Now all I have left are the clothes. My step mom went to resale shop and they had all the kids clothes you could stuff in a wal-mart bag for $3 and she found the kids some cute stuff that would be fine for school too. I was surpized at the school supply list this year. It was alot cheaper this year than I expected. Last year we had to buy nap mats, kleenex, germ x - this year they didn't ask for near as much. Well I am behind at work so I better get to work. I have a test tonight in economics I am not looking forward to. Oh something funny happened yesterday - I went to vote and they had to look at my license. The lady looked at my license and jokingly said "this is not you, this girl has a fat face" I looked at my license and it was true - I really look alot different now - it's funny how your face can change when you lose weight.

Good luck on your test Amanda. I am sure you will do just fine. And I hear ya on the school supply lists. When I was a kid all you needed was some pencils, pens, notebook and folders. Now we have to supply the school with supplies just so our kids can attend. Hopefully you will get to take a new picture when you renew your license next time or they'll take you in for identity theft. That is wonderful!

They don't expire till 2013 and my weight listed says 240 but I know I lied when I told them that and I was more like 265 in that picture. My oldest is going to be in 1st grade. They had a coloring book on her supply list? A coloring book? I thought that was a little odd. The last couple weeks of school last year I felt like such a failure as a mom so this year I am going to be more organized. The last week of school they had "turtle races" and I never saw the note so the girls didnt have a turtle to race. For Field Day you could order T-Shirts so your child would have a shirt that said Goodland Kindergarden and they would all match..... well I missed the shirt deadline and all the kids had matching shirts in Pre-K & K except mine. Then for K graduation I didn't know you were supposed to dress your kids up for that so Macy wore Jeans & a T-Shirt while all the other little girls wore frilly dresses. I really felt & still feel awful. So this year I will be supermom - I will come home from work and lay their clothes out for the next day the night before, I will check their backpack for notes daily & remember snack money. It's so hard being a working mom!

once I tried to drop my son off at school on a Holiday LOL....I was racing around all morning, and would drop him off prior to speeding to work. Well, didnt realize it was a school holiday until we got there and the place was deserted. We do the best we can when we are supermom, superwife, superstudent, superworker and all the other hats we gotta wear!! :-) and congrats on the compliment the lady gave you on your license!

congrats on the compliment!! That had to make you feel fantastic!! Don't be so hard on yourself. We're all human and we do the best we can. Sometimes we mess up and some times we're superstars. You're ideas for being prepared are good ones and I'm sure will make life a little easier this school year.
BTW...what's up with coloring books for school!!! First time I ever heard of that one!!
