okay playing with my meter again today. I had two cups of coffee today, the first was early in the morning to help me wait longer for eating. I ate at 8;30 instead of my normal 4;30 to 5. the coffee raises my glucose and drops my ketones when I have food and without food. without food it is not too bad just enough to help me keep from having to eat because I dropped too much to wait. After yesterday I don't know if this is a benefit or not. yesterday I fasted for 24 hours and while I did not get the water weight gain I normally get from dairy, no clue if I lost fat. after a good sized meal 2.5 hours after first coffee and right after exercise, 1k 4.5G. 4.5 hours
4.5 hours after coffee, 1.5 hours after exercise, 1.7k 4.1G. I ate and then monitered my moderate meal. 2 hours after breakfast of steak 1.1k and 4.9G. 3 hours after steak and before coffee it stayed pretty level 1K and 4.8G. now 3.5 hours after coffee and 8 hours after I originally ate things are finally starting to change 1.6K and 4.6G. I have a feeling that having higher glucose levels and lower ketones may slow my fat loss. I am on my normal higher fat routine so I will see how things go. either way I have to stop the coffee drinking. the fog is not good for me. save it for a treat

yesterday I did not feel good fasting, today delaying my eating was just fine, but once I did eat I did not feel totally satisfied like I normally do. I felt like I should have had more to fill me up. so back to normal tomarrow

I normally avoid fasting but decided this morning I would try to avoid the water retention I expect tomarrow from the dairy fest I had this weekend. I had coffee which I also should not have but it helps me go without food.

I have been monitered my blood sugar levels and ketones every few hours and the coffee drinking with no other calories all day helped to keep my glucose stable until around 1;30. I last finished my meal a little before 3;30 yesterday.


I put off eating for a while by drinking some more electrolytes to offset the dizziness and general not feeling great. this is a major reason I don't like to fast. I just don't seem to switch over to fat eating mode to fuel myself.


We are having steak tonight so I cooked up about half my steak and some fat from my husbands steak for my late lunch. It was so boring and I will be lucky if I don't have a reaction to it. Publix had the ribeyes on sale and I know it was older and really had no flavor.


I have approximately half my maintenance calories in and will be close if not over by time dinner is over if I can stomach the other half. I guess I am getting spoiled by my high fat steak.


I took my readings 2 hours to 2.5 hours after drinking it and in between I had my heavier resistance work. 1.4 k, 4.7 g noon 2.3k, 4g 2.8k, 2.5g. done testing for the day. I know it is going to go up since I just ate.


it will be interesting to see if I still retain water tomarrow. the electrolytes are also heavy in salt so that may also be a factor.

today I kind of took the day off, did the large tanks and left the rest. my son was coming up for a visit and he wanted chicken nacho's and that takes quite a while to prepare for the amount I need to make for my hungry guy!

needless to say while I did not have the flour shell as I don't do well with flour, I did have all the dairy I can't have. going to be well under my calories but I will gain water weight I will carry a few days. But it is nice to have a break. I also said the heck with it and had coffee all day too! double trouble.

Sometimes I do feel the restrictions and like to break away. nothing that can't be fixed with a little patience. the water weight will eventually fade away.

I did do a couple sessions on the total gym, trying to build up my series on that machine. Once I can step up how many I can do, I can move my level up. I finally added another 10 pounds to the bowflex this week. got tired of doing so many series. takes more time, do more weight less time taken with the exercise. I am going for more endurance than bulking, but it gets boring to do the same thing multiple times.

Going to go kick up my feet and relax the rest of the night.

I forgot to record my loss yesterday, but it took me a full 5 days of not dieting to get those extra pounds back off. no more low fat for me staying to what works, if my fat loss stays slow it will just be something I have to have patience for. I really don't want to get back into the cardio routine, I was really overdoing it. I try to space my resistance work far enough apart and stick a stationary bike ride inbetween (200 calorie burn). Just moderate not the 400 to 600 calorie burn any more.

My calories have been above maintenance this week too, but then I have been busy with my fish room maintenance which definitely worked my muscles.

my legs/calves are still feeling it but not in discomfort any more.

Stayed awake longer than normal last night and slept in. for some reason I am more tired already that normal. I guess my body liked getting up a 3am.
