Lost a pound... hubby ate more and lost 3... you know how that goes but I will not be dissuaded.... I am sticking to it... brave words I hope I can still write to you a year from now... can you tell I'm nervous about keeping this up. I am committed to reading the recent activities and notifications because I get a lot of support from knowing I am not alone

I was reading some ones post about success with a fasting program... Lucky lady... Me not so much...I never passed up the newest fast over the last 4 decades. kid you not ...carrot juice , fruit juice, Isogenic ...water ... you name it and i tried it. Apparently my body goes into starvation mode and holds on tight to every morsel of fat and won't let go...sometimes the scale moved but I never achieved permanent weight lose so here am I today counting and measuring. I also tried almost every diet that has come along... Atkins and varied there of, South Beach... low carbs ,Paleo, all fruit, all veggies high protein shakes ...several different brands ... you name it I tried it... and here I am 70 pounds heavier then when I first started.I sure hope for my knees sake this approach works Tomorrow is weigh-in and I on't want to pull up stakes and run if this is not working...I AM BURNT OUT ON DIETING and I have just begun.

No matter how my second weigh-in goes I'm sticking with my program. I am actually enjoying what I am doing... calorie counting and eating the occasional forbidden food like cereal or noodles measured and weighed. I must admit I have my doubts I am a survivor of so many diets and have so many contradictory rules floating around in my head... little scared to leave them all behind and just focus on eating up to my magic number and nothing beyond. I started to feel like I wanted meat last night and after almost two weeks on this program I ate only 4 oz.worth instead of half pound ... so something is happening ... right now I don't want to start figuring out proportions of this and that. It would make this like every other program I failed.. Almost two weeks in, I'm still counting and measuring... a record for me ... don't want to jinks it.

I got rid of my scale and I am amazed how often I think of weighing myself. I am proud of my myself for measuring/weighing out everything I eat.. I am recording every calorie ... that's just down right amazing. I have never done that. I weigh in this Friday morning... after almost two weeks I am starting to think of protein proportions ...vs carbs and find that challenging but that's what I get for creating a do it yourself diet. Maybe working all of this out just insure that I stay on this as a life plan... Love ready all your posts. Keep up the good fight...

So great to pass a whole day without getting on the scale... and what is really marvelous is all your comments and support. Fabulous, It's really important to feel part of a magnanimous community .. Very Cool.
Yesterday I had guests... major challengeI made shrimp, salad etc....very strange setting up a measured calories aware practice plate before everyone came so I could eyeball my proper portion when they were there and not pull out the food scale and measuring cups etc ... I really don't want to let my friends and family know that I am on a diet AGAIN until I have something notable happening... Eventually I will be confident enough to bring out my measuring stuff for all the world to see but for now this our little secret,,,,Got to admit it does feel a little sneaky.
