Was supposed to weigh in this morning, but didn't see the point. Thighs are still rubbing together, and they -- not the scale -- are the barometer. I will not fit into my goal jeans if I can't pull them up past my knees.
Am feeling a bit low lately diet-wise. Did a 4 mile walk yesterday but returned with multiple red welts from invisible bugs enjoying their breakfast at my expense. I'm not pigging out or doing anything self-destructive, but I guess I was just hoping for more progress on the thigh front.
Scheduled my annual Flu Shot and Bivalent Omicron Booster for next week, and now that I'm over 50 I'm supposed to get the Shingles Shot, too. So many needles this year, it seems, between all the immunizations and lab tests.
Will put on some fun music at lunchtime for a half-hour of living room dancing to hopefully bust me out of my funk. 💃🏻🎵

Micro-loss this week bringing me to 137.2. Had forgotten how difficult it is to lose when so close to ideal body weight. Still, I had set a goal of 118 lbs. by Thanksgiving, so more work is needed.
I gave up rice and pasta several months ago because of the processed food thing and also because they're low in nutrients for their calorie content. In their place I've been using spinach and potatoes of various kinds. I'm big on curries, and these are great fillers. Wading into autumn is also a great excuse to use the new crop of produce in season: potatoes, brussels, eggplant, pumpkin, apples & pears. It finally cooled off enough that I could bake red cabbage "steaks" in the oven, brushed with olive oil, salt & smoked paprika.
I love pumpkin in Thai curries from restaurants, so this season I'm tackling cutting and carving at home. Since my local market sells both the big ones and the "pie" pumpkins, the experiment will involve both.

My doctor was more pleased than I was, as she wanted to put all her patients on my diet. I was just annoyed and disappointed that I didn't hit my goals of LDL=70 and HDL=60. So I'll just keep on, keepin' on until doc orders the next test in a year. There's nothing to do to improve my diet; just do more regular cardio and drop the remaining 19 lbs.

New goal is to lose 20 pounds by Monday, Nov. 21st. The reward will be a trip to visit my brother for Thanksgiving.
Success also means that I'll be able to fit into all of my old clothes again.
Failure will mean no trip, and just a Zoom call.

This week I have Lipid labs & doctor's appointment to go over the 3rd & final results of the Whole Foods Plant Based (WFPB) diet experiment. LDL is at 105 currently, and I'm aiming for 70.
Since I'm back in diet mode, I'm just going to go for my original goal of 118. I was maintaining at 128 for a year, which is nice, but lazy, and there's clothing (size 2) in my closet that doesn't fit yet. Figure Thanksgiving with consistent cardio.
This journal is about me, not about anyone else reading it. For those with a competitive personality, you'll probably understand the positive & negative motivating pep talks, enjoyment of the hard work and focused mindset required. We don't pat ourselves on the back for finishing a marathon -- we want to push and best our previous time.
