Woke up with a hellacious sinus headache this a.m. I knew it was coming yesterday when I was cleaning my suite. We're hitting about 99-101 degrees here and it's hazy outside, but thankfully not from smoke.
Something in the air is just sitting on this valley I reside in and whatever it is my sinuses don't like it at all! So, I took my Trifecta of Ibuprofin, Claritin, and Flonase. My old steady comes through every time, but for the first part of the morning I was laid up in bed with extreme head pain and nausea. This is the worst it's been in a long time.
I love the wilderness out here, but word to the wise if one ever decides to move to the Northwest (especially, Inland) - there is not a single person I've come across locally or who moved here from out of state that does not have allergies. It would not have changed my mind about moving here over a decade ago, but it might have been nice to prepare - LOL.
Anyway, weight is down a little bit more this a.m., but might be up tomorrow because of the allergy medicine. Cardio is happening later on today. And, I'm going to see if I can indeed make those Collard Greens I wanted prepare for tonights meal.

Ugh, as someone who gets intense migraines and sinus pressure, I can commiserate. Have you tried adding a Neti-pot to your routine? It used to save me when I was pregnant and living with two cats and very little ventilation in the summer. I also highly recommend an air purifier with a HEPA filter. And a facial massage concentrating on the sinus areas seems to help. Hope you’re feeling better!

Oh my dear, I know you commiserate. And, you want to know why? Because, every thing you suggested I actually have. And, that tells me you really do understand my pain. I have 2 'Coway Airmega' hepa air filters. One in my suite and the other is in the clubroom that is connected. I use the lymphatic drain massage on my face, which believe it or not if I catch the headache in time, really works! I even do it on my cats face because he too, has allergies!!! The Neti-pot, I purchased over a decade ago when I was first diagnosed with a sinus infection due to allergies. But, I confess to having not pulled her out in a while. In fact, it's so ironic you mention the 'Neti' because I was thinking to myself "ya know, you might want to try using that when it first comes on, maybe it will help." I confess 'Neti's' been collecting in my bathroom for a while. It might be time to put her to use again. And, thank you dear heart - I'm feeling a LOT better today. The outside temp is actually supposed to decrease. And, I'm hoping whatever has been hanging stagnant in the air that's been irritating my sinuses will pass. It's so hard to know out here. My backyard is basically a state park so trying to narrow down what flora and fauna might be the irritant is a proverbial needle in a gigantic haystack!

Ah, thanks buenita. I'm sorry you have to deal with them, too. I can tell ya - I consider myself a tough gal when it comes to most pain. But, brain pain is definitely my weakness. And, I'm always thanking the divine above when it finally passes!

my husband struggles with allergies, especially when the hay field behind our house is ready to be cut or actively being cut. Zyrtec works better for him. he tried Claritin for 3 weeks and he had no change. switched back to Zyrtec and that seems to be what works.
hope you find relief from these allergies and migraines!!
