Today my nephew (really my son) secured his 1st apartment that is all his own. He shared his joy with me. I'd never be able to quickly explain the significance of this moment. The essence of it is: He feels that I am safe to love. Best present I could ever wish for. 💙

Burnitu9, we are kindred spirits, him and I. I knew his mom (my sister-in-law). When she passed, he was only 9-years old. He lived with his abuela until he turned 13, and then she passed as well. It was not easy to love a distraught 13-year old who eas struggling with his sexual orientation... but now, he shines like the star he always was inside. My baby... forever.

Thank you, Diana💙 He suffered through a very rocky relationship after college and had to move back in with us for about 6 months. Then he jumped into another stormy relationship and we told him he had to figure out what was important and that he could not stay with us if wasn't going to take his life seriously. We were not mad. No drama. Just boundaries and love. He left to live with Mr. Wrong and eventually decided that, that was a poor choice. This time, he is putting himself first. His own place. His own life. His own self-love. His self-love is my self-love because we are one. 💙

Burnitu9, at various points, and to varying degrees, all 3 of my nephews lived here with me after their mom passed. The oldest for 6 months, the middle for 3 years, and my baby for the 5 years. They each brought me a gift I could never repay, because now that my sons are teenagers, I laugh every day. It is fear that does the most damage to our young ones. Our fears that they might not be appropriate for life. Those 3 nephews taught me that although concern and caution are very important, love is really the right answer every single time... it is nice to always have the answer no matter what the situation. 💙

@Unity…yes, love is a powerful tool for conquering life. ♥️ My granddaughters’ dad passed away suddenly in 2021. Since then, we’ve all come together to support the grands so they know, no matter what, they are LOVED. God bless you for stepping in and being your nephews’ rock when they needed it! 😊
