Authority Nutrition's: The 8 Most Popular Ways to do a Low-Carb Diet. This was one of the articles that I read that lead me to the way I eat today. I love to eat large quantities of food. Good food that is! When I read that I can still release weight even if I eat higher calories and over 100 carbs a day, I tried it out. It worked nicely for me! Then the idea to triple my fat intake got into my head. Another decision that worked for me! Once the Bulletproof Challenge is over next week, I will only consume 2 bulletproof coffees per day. I just wanted to experiment to see what happens if I add even more fat. I want to replace that one coffee with more protein and vegetables. I do want to thank all the members on this site for all the inspiration and motivation I have gotten on here!

Good luck, Colleen! I wish I could go back to eating more protein and veggies and maybe once I break this metabolic issue that I have, I will be able to do so. I look forward to your updates!

Here's an odd statement: I rarely go on FB. When I do, I end up in a sad mood. On this site, I am happy, uplifted, inspired, motivated, et. Does anybody else ever feel worse after being on FB?

facebook is populated by 'my life is awesome and perfect' pretenders, the politically insane, and holy warriors. Unfortunately they're our friends and family so there's not much that can be said about it. lol I try really hard to keep my facebook posts non-controversial, G-Rated humorous, and interestingly trivial. It's a great tool for being nosy, though, and I do utilize it for that very purpose. lol

LCHF low carb high fat.....65-70% calories from fat, 25% from protein, 5% carbs. Less than 50gms carb is low carb, less than 30gms is ultra low carb. The more fat you eat, the longer you will be full and satiated. It is the fat you want to add, not the extra protein, you get enough with your fatty foods... Bacon, cheese, heavy cream, etc....

I hate FB. Check it about 6 times a year when I know people post pictures to it that I want too or when I'm screening someone. Spent way too much time on it in the past. It's like an evil vortex of procrastination.

Sugar Waffle it's great you've found a new way of eating that is working so well for you. For myself, I've found that adding fat from coconut oil in the mornings seems to help me lose weight better. As for facebook I know a number of people for whom it is a very negative factor. My daughter is going to delete her account because of it. It doesn't really bother me other than the crazy political/religious/bigoted comments some people post...I choose to ignore it and am not on the site much anyway.

I'm thrilled that your metabolism allows for that many carbs, my friend! :) We are all metabolically different and have different carb thresholds, if you will. After I am keto adapted again, I will add back green veggies and a few other low carb veggies to meet dietary needs. Other than that, It's meat and fat for me. As for FB, It's been over a year since I've had one. I emailed them and had my account permanently deleted. Too much stress, drama, and slurs for me.

BulletProof3, I have dieted since Twiggy was the rage. 12 or 13 when I started. I was thin but not like Twiggy. That is over 40 yrs. I only got larger and larger till I followed Doug Kaufman's protocol and healed myself. That's just before I joined this site. My metabolism should have been dead after all the starvation diets I tried. I just wanted to point out that at my age (56, oh how did I get so old?) that it is possible to do something alternative and it work. Thankfully for me.
