Waist Measurement - 45.5 down another 1/2 inch! that makes a total of 3.5 inches off of my waist.

Went to bed kind of early last night (8:30-ish) because it felt like a cold was trying to hit me. I feel okay this morning, but my taste buds are still off... so who knows. I am going to skip the work-out today just in case so I can be gentle with my body today. I don't want to overwork it if I am getting sick.

I broke down last night and ate a few green olives and some leftover brussel sprouts from my dad and brother's dinner. Expected my BGL to be high high this morning since I had no protein with the carbs, but glad to see that it is actually lower than it has been in the last couple of mornings. This body's regulations are so damn hard to figure out.

I did notice lower BGL readings during the day yesterday since leaving the stevia alone. Which leads me to believe that it was indeed keeping my insulin levels elevated all day and my BGLs high.

I've switched all of the coffee (since I've been setting up the machine at night) to half decaf half reg and no one has noticed. What I have noticed is... we are all sleeping better. Sneaky me! Ha!

Speaking of coffee... time for a BPC!

I've had only 1 BPC this morning and have not taken the Janumet. Nice to see a lowering effect without medication.

What a great coffee trick! I noticed if I have coffee after 5, I don't sleep well at night.

Good morning, Ravyne! Funny you should mention about the decaf. Here I am up at 7 a.m. this morning (for no apparent reason) feeling fully rested. On the weekend, I normally sleep until the DH nudges me asking if I'm going to cook breakfast or the kids wake me up. Good job on listening to your body about the workout! Becoming healthier is all about learning to connect with what our bodies are whispering. I'm so happy to see someone else figuring out their body's regulations, instead of just taking another pill. I'm SO proud of you for that! You WILL get it all figured out. I haven't bought any BG strips in a while. I may have to buy a few and check the Stevia theory out on myself. Thanks for sharing! @athenasculptress - yes, caffeine has that effect on me as well. My brother and dad still consume lots of caffeine during the day because they are both soda drinkers (dad diet, brother reg), but at least they aren't getting as much now with my coffee trick :D I am sleeping much much better now because of it and they are both still in bed sleeping this morning.

@BP3 - I am determined to get off of all medication. Right now it is just the Janumet 2 times a day, but I've yet to take any this morning and my BGLs are coming down on their own. Not going to mess with what doesn't need fixed lol. As for the stevia.. yeah, never thought it would be a problem, but I honestly believe it was a huge factor. I was using around 15-30 drops per day. Maybe it was the amount and I could have tried lowering it, but I am an "all-in or all-out" kinda gal, so I just gave it up completely. Let me know if you decide to test this theory on your end. I would be interested in seeing someone else's results.

Hi Ravyne, I'm new here and ran across your post while reading through some info. In regards to the artificial sweetener raising blood sugars it has been being researched and they have determined that it changes the microorganisms in the gut, which in turn can cause the blood sugars to increase. My DH is diabetic, and I am borderline diabetic myself-(lol trying hard to not receive the diagnoses), anyway, for several years prior to his routine quarterly labs they have told him to be NPO-(Nothing by mouth after midnight) the night before the labs, But that he can have a sip of water or a sip of black coffee, or tea specifying Without any sugar or artificial sweetener because both will raise his glucose level, and that will be reflected on his labs. So one would naturally think because it is sugar-free that it would have no effect on the glucose levels, but from what we've been told, and what I've found during my research that isn't actually true.
