Avoidance is not a good thing. Been avoiding weigh log in because I knew I'd gain. Not writing it feels less shameful. Yes, I still have issues with weight gains. Up and down, so much easier to go up than down. Still, I do not give up just cut the calories and work back down. It is what it is, even though I hate it. Now I have to just avoid "temptations" at all costs when I step into Aldi store. I have now avoided the store for over a week. Stopped at different store and just got what I NEEDED. My love hate with Aldi's has begun. I love ALL the cheese, which by staying away, BP is pretty good.

Don't fear the scale. It is just a tool, like skillet or wrench. I use my scale to tell me when my activity level and food consumption is working and what doesn't work. I'm always learning which foods make me feel satisfied yet don't push the scale too far in the wrong direction. And, my happy surprise, for me; I can eat one scoop of ice cream several days a week and not tip the scale. Tacos are another happy food for me (without sour cream). Sometimes, even when I keep a low calorie count, I still gain weight. I've discovered that certain activities cause inflamation and water retention. When the inflamation goes away, the weight does too. The scale is your honest friend who is telling you the truth.
