Got a question for ya: Anyone tried the "Curves w/ Zumba" ??? Just got an email for a free week, and there's a center near me w/ this. Apparently it's new. Used to go to a Curves about 6-7 yrs ago. I actually loved it. Got a little stagnant after about 6 months, and changed to a new job that consumed my life... and gave up my membership. Been thinking I could use a change on the Exercise front... so this looked interesting. Just wondering if anyone has tried it?

Also been thinking of buying a bike. Never been a bike rider... would need some tips and pointers on that also... but would love to mix things up a bit and keep moving forward!

It sounds interesting. Since it is free for a week give it a try. Can't hurt. I've known a couple of people who choose to ride their bikes as a means of transportation in the warmer months. They don't need a gym membership to keep them fit. If it wasn't for the stinky factor I'd have all day at work, I'd ride a bike.

Can't comment on the curves or zumba but can give you a few tips on the bike riding. As you probably know my hubby and I invested in new bikes this summer. We actually bought electric bikes which can alternate between battery power and manual. We love to go long distances so for us this was perfect. We also use them to get around town to so small errands and such, you know, reduce the carbon foot print and all. I live in a bike riding community with lots of trails, etc so it is perfect for us. If you want to go with something just for efficient exercise, I would go to a good bike shop in your area. Do not go to a Target/Walmart to get a bike. You want a good bike shop so you can bring it in for tune ups etc and won't get any service from the chain stores. I had bought a bike at Target a few years ago only to find out when I brought it to the bike shop that it was set up all wrong, couldn't adjust the handlebars among a host of other issues. Ended up returning that bike. At a good bike shop you will be able to try many bikes. One that works for one person won't work for all. They will ask you about the kind of riding you will do and recommend the best bike for you. Oh yes, definately invest in a good helmet, they are the law around our parts, don't know about where you live but a good helmet is a must! Enjoy and happy bike riding!!
