Ok, I am frustrated.
The last of my bras broke last night. The underwire snapped and I can't say I was that upset (since it was reaching the end of its lifespan) except that I had to take the last of our savings to go on a trip to lane bryant today to get a replacement bra. I had checked their website last night to guesstimate what it was going to run me to replace my bra.
My bra was a 44DDD.
Now, That's the same bra I've been wearing from being 238 to now at 217.
I figured I probably had gone down a band size so when I called the store I asked them if they had any of the bras in a 44DDD and a 42DDD as well as 42DD I'm thinking, hey, I've lost more than a stone, so the boobs should have gotten smaller.
LB was having a sale through the end of the day today, where you buy one bra, get one 1/2 off. Which, for me is about the only way I could afford a second bra. And who doesn't want (or need) a second one?
So I wanted to get the Multi-way strapless bra (in either a 42DDD or 42DD).
The price for one on the LB site was $44.50, and the second one was supposed to be $22.25 = which after taxes would have made a total of $72.36 for both bras. That's what I was planning on, and that my DH had reluctantly agreed to me getting.
Can you imagine how it felt when I got there, picked up the two bras they'd placed on hold for me....to try them on and realize....that neither one fit?
Oh, yeah, the 42inch band instead of 44 was good.
That was a good fit. That made me feel good.
Nice to see some kind of change in my body after all the weight loss.
But the cups that floweth over--not so good. :(
I mean, what is that about?
How am I losing weight and my chest is getting bigger?
So, I had to get the woman at the changing rooms grab me some other bras, and can I tell you how my heart (and nerves) kept plunging as I tried one size after another trying to find one that would fit (without quadra-boobs or muffin-top boobs?) Because I know, that with LB, the bigger the cup the higher the price of the bras. Unfair (IMO) but, then, this is why I can only afford to buy new bras every two or three years.
I have some friends here who are like "Just buy them at wal-mart or target, they're only like 15 dollars then!" but for me, from my experience, if I buy the right style bra, I get full support, and I look good. And I can't afford lots of them *shoot, I can't really afford any of them* but as a woman I really do need them. I need something to help me feel feminine, and less like a saggy old woman(at 42, I shouldn't feel that way, I know!).
Anyway, back to the bra shopping.
Bearing in mind I'm buying the same bra as I did previously.
Which was a 44DDD.
I ended up Trying on:
A 42DD
Then a 42DDD
Then A 44DD (just in case)
Then...42F.
After that it was a 42G
Lastly, 42H.
Did I even know what a freaking H cup was? (besides F'in expensive?)No...
The 42H fits fantastically, and does the job.
It's a big pisser though, since instead of the two costing me $44.50 + (44.50-50%)+8% sales tax=$72.36, they ended up costing $59.50+(59.50-50%)+8%sales tax = $96.39 (actually I think it was a little more but it's past midnight and I don't feel like digging out the receipt).
Yeah. My jaw was hitting the ground because that was a hard lump to take. That's pretty much my food budget for the rest of this month and all of next month. Guess I won't be eating quite so well --but maybe that works out--to make sure I keep fitting in the bras?
Though I'm glad to get the bras, I am not happy about the cost and part of me wonders if LB has sneakily changed the sizes on their cups.
I doubt it, but then, how else did my breasts suddenly get to a size where they needed an H cup? (I'm still shaking my head about this...)
Anyway, this week I am doing my best and plan to get as many walks in as I can so I can get somewhere with dropping some more weight.
