i put on weight this week not much but it still upset me. ive been doing everything by the book and still had an increase. i was surprised i over reacted . acheived a goal i set at the biginning of the week x5 bike rides x 30 minutes fast i got 7 done. put on the techno music and away i go. i have found an excercise activity paired to music i like qnd it works really well. am gearing up over the next few weeks to join a gym. one of my shoulders is a bit weak so i thought i would try rowing as it works ur whole body and doesnt affect my weak shoulder. i hqve started to soften my diet a little as long as i stay in my calorie budget am finding i like sweet things when i used to like savoury (fast food) things. i feel slightly obsessive about this weight loss motivation remains high and i am getting more assertive about what i eat and what i dont want as trying to get type 2 diabetes under control by losing weight and excercing. eating better quality foid as well not junk. my number 1 focus is health at the moment 2verything else is secondary.

It can depend on when you weigh. Also exercise can cause the body to retain water as the muscle needs more water to heal up. I suggest scheduling your weigh in for a recovery day when you are not exercising. Perhaps you might want to do a morning weigh in daily too so you can work out the average of your weeks weight too. Weighing only one day out of 7 it’s hard to know if it was an average day or one above or below. The only other thing I would check is double check the way you count your calories. Research shows we undercount our calories by 40% nutritionists by 25% so it pays to look harder. Are you weighing portions ? Do you count everytime you take a bite while cooking or sharing food? Are you portions accurate? Also as you lose weight your BMR goes down as you have less body mass have you recalculated since you lost weight ? I started out at 1900 a day and down to 1500 a day Those are just suggestions my guess is all the exercise and water weight also if it’s a hormonal time for you I gain 2-4 kilos that week. And great on adding more foods back that’s what you have to do find a way to eat what you want in your calorie zone.

You’re doing great actually. My start weight was just a little more than yours. I did so well for 3 weeks then a family sickness and funeral. Eating with others, having someone staying with us. Then I’ve been unwell (long term problem). I’ve lost my omph and my motivation. So when I read how you’re putting Health above everything else it encourages me. So, thank you. I’m struggling with how blood sugar and higher than doctors want, cholesterol. They’re opposites when it comes eating. This is a difficult journey but it’s so much better when people like you share their ups and downs so that others can identify. You’re only up a little bit. I wish next week to be better for you.

Some really good suggestions on here. We've had a few days with family so haven't tried as hard as I should be. Only got 1 brief walk in over the 4 days away. Last night we had a mid winter feast at an exercise class for oldies so totally fell off the wagon. Funny thing I slept terribly with having an overloaded stomach. Serves me right. I'm really guilty of not diarising every bit of food that goes in my mouth while prepping meals. Back into it today. It really helps with writing down what I eat and definitely walking fast. I'm in it for the long haul. Not beating myself up but keep trying. Yes weigh in daily is good for me anyway. Thanks for all the tips guys 👍

being very focused this week sticking to calorie budget and excercise routine am getting ready to go up a level with joining gym and getting on a rowing mqchine abm going to build a 12 month goal set in increments of three months am disxovering its a marathon not a sprint as the popular saying goes feeling xommitted to this am going to have a cheat meal on sunday as is my 18th anniversary with wifey. am going on a work trip next week foe three days so feeling a bit apprehensive about being out of my normal routine the plqce i am staying has a gym so will be on the tredmill for and hour each day after work conference and will take some protein bars and eat wisely
