Aww I'm so sorry to hear that john, but I see you didn't let that stop you.  

Some farmers wrangle sheep, some hot peppers 😄

Well I replanted because if I hadn't then the work would've all been for nothing and there would've been no goodies at all.  

I come from a long line of plant killers. My wife and I have tried keeping a few plants alive inside the house and failed miserably. My mother once killed an air fern by watering it. So if I can pull this off I'll be turning a new leaf so to speak. So I'm figuring this out as I go. But I've planted several shrubs and flowers around the house and a few trees and a couple herbs they've mostly all survived so I'm giving this a try.

I certainly do hope you both get rewarded with some goodies. And your mother, oh no! I have a green thumb and I could see myself giving water to a plant unless told different. One year I spent a small fortune putting azaleas, hostas etc. all over my parents' property in the right places for each of them. My father was off work for 2 weeks and watered them twice every day. Actually, he drowned them. He just didn't know any different. Leaving for work every am, and going home in the pm all he had noticed was sprinklers going off everywhere. My mother didn't find it funny, she bought him a fish tank! (So, he could water something every day and not kill it!)(In her defense the whole yard was a brown sopping mess, took some time to get anything to grow for a long time). After retirement he tried and failed and kept trying until their yard became the envy of all! Wishing you the best outcome for your effort. :-) Have a good one :-)

That's a fantastic story Breezy. Glad he got it figured out in the end. We used to live in a rental that was owned by the boarding school we taught at. I planted rhododendrons one summer and a student worker very helpfully mowed our yard to be nice and mowed them right over. Then a week later the dean asked him to cut out a couple of dying evergreen bushes and he left the bushes but cut down 2 pine trees instead that had been in the center of campus since the school was built. So I thought for a moment you were going to say your dad mowed down all the plants.  

Asarver, I hear that chili peppers actually thrive in the hot weather. I'm also growing them because I hear the deer 🦌 won't eat them. And we have a lot of deer. So it seemed like a safe plant to grow 

Ouch! 

Deer ate almost all of my hosta leaves. It's always something! 

The deer ate our hosta down to the dirt on one side of the house but left 2 hostas on the other side alone. I was thinking some hot chili plants over there might discourage them from eating plants around here.
