Popped into the doctor's office on Friday to get my Tetanus & flu shots, and mentioned my quest to lower my cholesterol levels to the nurse, so she pulled up my labs. Turns out that my Total is 206 and not 216 like I thought. So that was happy news, and makes things 10 points easier.

Current Cholesterol Levels to Improve (I am not on any Statins or meds) :

Total: 206 (Goal: 190)
LDL: 130 (Goal: 70)
HDL: 51 (Goal: 70)
Trig: 124
Ratio: 4.0 (Goal: 3.0)

A1C%: 4.9
BP: 88/62 (Goal: 95/65)

Next Lipids labs are in July, so I'm working hard every day with inner health in mind. On the outside, I'm doing yoga and using resistance bands to tighten up the squishy jiggly bits (Bridgit Jones nod for all the fans 😊). Am not purposefully trying to reduce my weight from 128 to 118 (I'm 5'5"), but if it happens while training, I certainly won't complain. The real goal is to fit back into ALL of the clothes in my closet, and some of those are one size down still.

Hmmm.. my total cholesterol last week was 324. Is that bad? LOL

Well, my best advice is to find the prettiest doctor with the prettiest nurses, as you will probably be visiting them more often now. And this way you’ll have an audience to appreciate your charm and weight loss progress 👩🏻‍⚕️💪🏻

@Wifey: Jheeesh. You know me too well. It is contingent upon whether I just lower my Total to 199 or the full 190, and lowering my LDL to 99 or the full 70. Accomplish the least, get 1 bottle. Hit it out of the park and accomplish goal, buy 2. I've been eyeing: Aerin Lauder Amber Musk, Tom Ford Bitter Peach, Tom Ford Noir Extreme, and Hermès un Jardin sur le Nil Eau de Toilette.

Thank you, YetAnother! My maturity is age related. When I was in my 20's, I didn't know squat about saturated fats in foods and how it's a slow build of cholesterol & plaque. Also didn't think about too many pasties adding up to insulin issues later on. I suspect many here on FS are in the same "I'm invincible!" mode, uneducated and not concerned. Men don't figure it out until ED kicks in at 40-50. I see it like smoking: it takes years before the damage is noticeable enough to seek medical attention. I'm fortunate that my parents had a garden and fed us whole foods, home cooked meals, and never fast food. I think that saved me a lot of early damage.
