Still processing my dad’s passing. I returned to work this week and my eating pattern is erratic. I am not totally out of control, but I am snacking and ordering out too often. My exercise is sporadic. I am working toward getting back to beneficial routines as I go through the various stages of grief. My best to everyone.❤️

you'll get there, but give yourself time. I have almost no memory of anything around my dad's sudden passing. I have flashes but no cohesive memory. I can read things I wrote, but I just don't remember it the way I normally do. it's so strange. love to you while you work your way through it.

It was so different with each of my parents. I took care of my mother till I was totally exausted so it took a year to get my strength back. When our son died by the time someone answered the phone that I was calling I couldn't even remember who I had called. I was a mess for a year. I only got "angry" twice after his death, and if I remember correctly it was a couple of months or more later and I wasn't angry at him, but once at my husband, and then at someone trying to cheat me, but I know the instant livid was caused by my grief. Be kind to yourself. It may take more time than you think. I think I'm not moving past denial for the death of my sister and 2 SIL. My heart is with you.

Sometimes I’m not exactly sure of what “be kind to yourself” actually means. To me, being kind to myself means to do the very best I can to ensure that my body has everything it needs to function properly and thrive. Nutritional food, a few comfort things for mental health, fresh air and sunshine for both my physical and mental well-being and enough physical activity to keep my blood and oxygen flowing and my mind clear. Less healthy foods, over eating are both depressants on your best day and really have a negative effect when both your mind and body are both stressed in grief. I hope you find peace and can find what it means to you to “be kind to yourself.”

It took me 6+ months or me to recover from my mother's death. I took early retirement at age 57 and 34 years at my job. Pulled up stakes and moved back where my wife and I grew up. We wintered in the South in an old house, then permanently moved 6 years ago. The change in scenery and support of my wife really helped me. Refocusing help ed me immensely. Had to think outside the box to reduce the brooding. I was a

I'm sorry for your loss. I know how difficult that can be. You've got this woman. Take the time you need to process this. Grief is a process and no one can tell you how long it takes to overcome. But I'm proud of you for trying to stick to your goals. WTG! 👏 🙌 Prayers, light, and love 🙏 ✨️🤍
