Hi FSFamily!!
Just a oddball question. I inherited quite a few doctors from my stay in hospital plus my regular doc’s and my blood always shows low sodium.
In our family my parents never salted their food so none of us do. So now all my doctors are suggesting I get salt pills.
As a kid , they were given to families when they registered their kids to school in the summer but I don’t have a clue where to get salt pills ,and neither do my doctors when questioned.
I haven’t had a salt pill in about 60 years!! Do they really still exist??
So far I have one doc if I say I can’t come Monday he schedules me for Monday at 8AM when I already have an appt!! He’s 2 for 2 so far!!
His office says don’t worry, we’ll pick you a great appt! But I have appointments!
We’ll call you!! You’ll see!!
I want to hide!!🤣😂🤣😉

I have taken salt a couple times briefly to correct sodium. I was advised just to put sea salt in water and drink it

I have been low sodium for years it is hard to find the salt pills I get mine from Amazon I'm supposed to take 2 g a day and watch my fluid intake so I don't pee it all out

I get fainty and one PA said pour a bit of salt in my palm and lick when I feel that way, it’s my sodium level. But I drink water like a camel every single day!! Thanks for the tip about Amazon!! I should have known!!🤦🏻‍♀️ Going to ask my GP if the salt pills will mess with my water drinking which I need to keep my kidneys healthy, and is natural unless I an ill , then I cocoon!!😂😩🤣 Thanks guys I feel better educated now, and able to make a better decision!! Like taking the pill at bedtime when I won’t be drinking. Have a wonderful Weekend!!💖💖👍
