Lost .2 pounds. Slow like a turtle! It says it will take 25 months to lose 21 pounds. How do I speed this up a bit? I always eat between 1500 and 1700 calories, and always seem to be losing .2 or .4 pounds at a time.

The general concensus in the medical community seems to be that the weight lost slowest, stays off the longest. (Probably at least in part, I am guessing, because you re-train yourself as you go.)
So in the long term, this is good news! After all, who wants to have to do this twice - or more?

You're doing excellent! Calories are one thing but what you're actually eating is another. I'm sure you have a very healthy meal plan. Just make sure you're getting lots of fibre and stay away from the usual culprits - cakes, muffins, donuts, white potatoes, white rice, white bread rolls, heavy sauces.

Gotta lower the calorie count to about 1200-1400/day, and increase walking to 3 miles/day, or other exercise comparable. It happens -- the smaller you get, the less calories are needed to maintain your weight, so at this point you need to drop them down again. You'll get there! 🙂

Your goal weight is 175 pounds, so you can safely drop down to 1400 kcal/day. (Goal weight in pounds, X 8.) You’ve been doing great at your current amount but those few less kcal/day will probably be enough to kickstart a faster weight loss. I wouldn’t go much below 1400 without checking with your doctor first.

it can seem slow. check in to see your base rate before exercise. this seems to be about 1738 calories daily. when you add activity it increases. the difference between what you burn daily and what you eat daily tells the story. if you eat 500 calories less than you burn that is 1 pound per week. tracking walking gardening housework all count. I have found this the single best checkin to really stay on track with my goals.

Hi, I lost 20 lbs in 12 months but I went down to approx 1300 cal per day.

fatsecret told me I could ear 1800 calories a day. Noom says 1200. my scale says my BMR is 1377 and I need to eat less then that. I trust my scale the most. point is #'s lie and the best would be to eat much less calories a day to lose.

Maybe try lifting weights? I’m no expert but I’ve been lifting weights 4 times a week and eating between 1800-2000 calories for a while now and I’ve lost 7lbs

Muscle burns fat so lift some weights and start the progress slow to avoid injury. Strong body , strong bones are the best for overall health

Go down to 1200-1400 calories a day that will help and do cardio exercise even 30 minutes a day will make a big difference!

I would like to do some weight training, that worked well the last time. And when my leg/hip heals I can start walking again. When I stopped walking due to the injury it must have made a difference, so I'm looking forward to getting back.
