Try plain unsweetened Greek yoghurt. It’s thick and texture is very different but adding berries and a splash of almond milk helps. I don’t eat dairy any longer but miss my Greek yoghurt

Be interesting to hear what your diabetes nutritionist thinks of Keto. I like Dr. Rob Cywes on YouTube. He has interesting takes on Keto (pro).

Make sure you are armed with plenty of information before the meeting with the nutritionist. In my experience, nutritionists are woefully uninformed and poorly educated about therapeutic low-carb diets. The American Diabetes Association has finally approved low-carb as a healthy option.

Just remember there are different levels of low carb dieting with keto bring more strict and carnivore bring extreme. A registered dietitian specializing in diabetics has the knowledge you need. You need something you can sustain for life. I work with a sports dietitian, most low carbers would consider my diet high carb but scientifically it is in the low carb department.

There is a yogurt that is lower in carbs than cottage cheese. We tried it, it is pretty good, but I do put a couple drops stevia in it. Not sweet enough for me. it is called "just one"

Have you listened to Dr. Jason Fung? Most nutritionist and doctors aren't up to date and have been trained by scools financed and influenced by the pharmaceuticals who benefit financially from people dependent on meds.

Jason Fung, Ken Berry, Andreas Eenfeldt, Eric Westman...all credible medical doctors who have written intelligently against the dogma that most nutritionists follow. They actually recommended fruit juice for diabetics, that just shows how much they know. FRUIT JUICE! There is nothing you can't get in low-carb vegetables that is in fruit juice, without the devastating effects of the sugar, and yes, sugar is always just sugar, even when it's from fruit.

If your diabetic I don't think you can do the Keto diet. If I'm not mistaken it would put you into Ketoacidosis & this is dangerous for diabetics.

The misinformation here is seriously disturbing. Ketoacidosis is only a risk for Type 1 Diabetics, not Type 2. If you're a type 2 diabetic, it's one of your best chances for reversing or putting into remission your T2D.

Oh, and some Type 1 diabetics do keto to reduce their dependence on insulin, so NO, the ketogenic doesn't automatically put Type 1 diabetics into ketoacidosis. Two separate things. Of course, those with T1D should work with their doctor to manage the risk and their insulin, but keto isn't off the table even for them. In fact, it could reduce the dependence of very expensive insulin and lead to a better quality of life.

look into dr. Jason fung. changed my life. brought my a1c down from 6.5 to 5.7 in 2 months. keto, intermittent fasting, and fasting.

Recommend book "Keto Clarity", most comprehensive keto book I have found and it talks about diabetes with keto as well.

actually keto or low carb can correct your diabetes. Did for me and my hubby. My mam was type 2 and she ate low carb for years. Just check with your doctor. Ours recommends low carb eating.
