I haven't felt the greatest today. I was having some drainage from my surgery, and a slight headache with mild fever. I ate half of my lunch and it just did not satisfy me. I don't know if it was because I felt bad, or if the food just wasn't good. I tried to eat some fruit to curb my appetite, but a co-worker was eating this Cajun fish dinner from Captain D's... oh my did it look and smell delicious. Ever since then I have been wanting cooked food. So I came home, tried to make a tomato basil puree and pour it over fresh vegetables, but it also made me gag. So I ate a mango, and ended up sharing half of that with my chickens. (I have 5 spoiled laying chickens) I have spent the rest of my evening mowing grass, and coming up with a raw "meat" patty that I can eat like a burger. There is a mayo recipe with macadamia nuts I want to try too. I've got a batch of fake meat patties in the oven dehydrating along with a raw flat bread I whipped up to eat the patties on. I hope I haven't lost my spark for this diet. Just hope this blah feeling passes soon.

Just make sure you drink plenty of water. If your not feeling any better tomorrow probably won't hurt to see doc... make sure you don't have infection.

Sounds like you nee to rest, not mow lawns. Get to bed woman, now. Just kidding but seriously you need to look after yourself and go to the r if you don't feel better

You know whats funny, I miss gorging myself. I miss eating so much I feel sick. I think I'm still not used to the flavor of uncooked foods, that I don't like them enough to gorge myself. I find myself eating half of what already seems like a small meal. Am I getting full faster? Even stuff like avocado, which when I was a meat eater I could eat a ton of, I am barely getting down half of one. And, when you make your own chips, you eat them like they're gold since there isn't an endless bag of chips to fall back on. Its a labor of love to make raw food. A batch of chips takes hours of dehydrating, and multiple trials to get flavors you like. I'm still finding those few core raw recipes that I enjoy eating. But then I think to myself... maybe I'm so fat because I enjoyed my food too much...lol. Maybe its not so bad that now I eat for nourishment instead of enjoyment. God I miss salty, greasy, cooked, meaty, cheesy food today. On another note, I made my raw mayo. Very good, I was pleasantly surprised. I made raw ground honey mustard and that ended up WAY to spicy. I will try making raw katsup tomorrow. I guess its veggie burger on flat bread with all the fixins & mayo for lunch tomorrow. Hope it tastes better than my lunch today. Thanks for all the get well wishes. I probably shouldn't have mowed the grass. I started bleeding a little again this evening. I may end up going back to the doctor if I think its getting worse. They told me drainage was normal. So I'm trying not to overreact (which I have a tendency to do)

Hang in there :) A change if lifestyle isn't easy and there will be times when you miss your former eating habits - there are times when I feel like "oh heck, why do I bother?". But you can do it! If you miss the feel of being full, maybe try gulping down a glass of water before eating? That way you can remember what it feels like (and realize maybe it really wasn't that great of a feeling after all :) Hope you're feeling better today.

Do you have any cook books? Maybe you should do vegan diet but cook your food because some diets aren't for everyone. But if you don't have any cook books, you should find some that can help with this diet so its a little easier. There are so many vegan recipes that require cooking and raw. I am not telling you to give up. Keep going with the raw vegan diet and search these sites for meals and snacks, even breakfast options. You can make an avocado salad with cherry/or grape tomatoes cut them in half or leave them whole. Then add olive oil, salt and pepper for a little taste. Another simple recipe is tomatoes, slice them add them to a bowl. Add olive oil, oregano, salt, one sliced clove of garlic for extra flavor. Stir it a bit so all the flavours combine. You can do this same thing with cucumbers but instead of garlic you add little red wine vinegar. If you want to add green or white onions you can if you like them lol I know this is long comment lol but I wanted to help out :)

Thanks for the websites Dandilee!!! I love avocado, and one of my favorite ways to eat it is with the tomato like you said. I also make my salad dressing out of it by using garlic salt and olive oil. Mash it all up and pour it over salad. I love researching new recipes on the web. I watched a bunch of raw food 101 classes on youtube last night. I learned a lot about different ingredients like Nutritional Yeast and using capsules of Probiotics to make vegan cheese. Its kinda scientific...lol.

lol..No problem :) oh yeah Nutritional Yeast, its good for a lot of things but I still need to buy and find it. I live in Canada and vegan stuff can be hard to find.

I found it in our local grocery store about 10 minutes from my house. I discovered they have a whole aisle of vegan and whole food stuff. Check out Amazon.com, they have EVERYTHING.
