I’m excited to say that I’m still going strong on day #3 of the induction phase of the Atkins. It’s really nice to have Lorik, kimbulie and Loosinisfun by my side for support during this run, too! We’re calling ourselves the four Musketeers! LOL

Things are really different for me this time around, I noticed. For instance, for breakfast yesterday I had 2 scrambled eggs with 2 TBSP of finely chopped celery and bell pepper, sprinkled with pepper cheese…and when I ate again about 6 hours later, it was dinner time! For dinner I ate a bowl of salad, maybe one piece of my steamed broccoli, and one bite of my pork chop. That was it! I was stuffed! That may have amounted to about 700 calories for the day, if that! I’m doing exactly what the diet calls for, eating whenever I’m hungry and until I’m full. Wow, the dynamics are changing drastically from one week to the next! During my first go-round with the induction, I averaged out the calories to be somewhere around 1300. Of course, yesterday’s plunge in calories could just be a fluke…we’ll have to see!
This is so easy! I almost hate calling it a diet anymore! NO problem doing this for the long haul, either. All the foods I’m consuming are natural and wholesome! Nothing is refined, bleached, preserved, artificial, or considered junk.

My only real problem right now is working out! The food on Atkins is definitely complex, and therefore takes longer to digest, so I can’t just start running ½ hour after dinner like I used to. I learned that the hard way!! (I won’t go into details! LOL) So now, my work out schedule has been a little upside down, while I figure out a new schedule that will work for me, between work and kids and hubby! I have all kinds of energy just waiting to be disbursed!

I am going to have a hectic weekend coming up, with lots of traveling the countryside, so I’m hoping I can find all Atkins friendly food while on the road, otherwise I’m going to starve! I’m not about to relax my hold on my control button any time soon! I’m too motivated! AND I belong to the four Musketeers! They’ll kick my rear back into gear!!

I have found that every few days I will have a lower calorie day when I don't eat very much, but as long as you listen to your body and only eat when you are hungry or every 6 hours. Atkins says if you aren't hungry in 6 hours just have something small, so you're doing it by the book. :) I eat a lot of salads when I travel. Just don't forget to order things the way you need them. Even at fast food places you can get a chicken sandwich w/o the meat. They usually even give you a fork and knife to eat it. It is possible! :)

Way to go!! I know what you mean about being full... **True Statement** Before, I could eat a whole (family) pack of soft baked chocolate chip cookies... no joke!! Now, my meals completely fill me up. Not only am I planning out my meals.. I'm setting a time for them. I give my self like from 6am-7am for breakfast... then lunch is from either 12-1pm.... and so on. I give myself like 5 to 6 hours between each meal so that I make sure to stretch it out over my whole day/evening. I found that this helps me so much! I'm done w/ food for today but it isn't but 3 more hours until I go to bed (hopefully, lol)... I'm so glad we can do this together too. It's given me a whole new outlook, motivation, and determination to do this!! I guess I was just in a huge rut for so long that I was stuck... I had lost my will power and personally... I was getting tired of being a failure. Not anymore though!! Day #3 .. almost over and I'm still on top of things. I took my kids to the park so I was on my feet walking around for 2hrs!! I made it a point not to sit and read like I would have normally done, lol.... I didn't have my pedometer but the way my legs and feet feel, I think I did alright! ;) On to day #4.... see you tomorrow my friend!!!

OH, duh... I forgot something!! I used to do this but stopped... starting tomorrow, I'm setting my alarm clock an hour earlier... I will then get up, get on my workout clothes and get a bottle of water and jump on the treadmill. I'm not lying.. if you get up and do it before you have time to think.. it isn't that hard at all!! There is plenty of research on early morning workouts as well... You really benefit from doing this and after a while... it just seems like second nature to get up and do it. Another plus, you have more "day" to do what you want!! Well, I'm gonna go lay in the tanning bed and take a long hot bath, watch some tv and take my tired butt to bed!!!

Sounds great! I know what you mean by your body changing the way it functions. It is strange. I can't believe how easy I get full sometimes. In fact, it has been a little bit hard for me to walk away. I usually have to sit there and play with my food for a good ten minutes before I realize that I REALL AM FULL! For the road trips, I recomment packing a little cooler - string cheese and cheese sticks, cheese curds, Atkins bars and beef sticks (I get real ones because Slim Jims are just too chemical tasting to me) and celery. I travel quite often. And these are all God-sends for me. I'm a HORRIBLE snacker in the car. I really, really, really like to eat on the road. So I need to plan ahead a little. But it is true - even fast food can be adaptable - take the bun off of a cheeseburger, order the salad, eat the topping off of a slice of pizza - you know the usuals! Keep up the good work Muskateers!!!

Enters and folds arms with a "hymmph" (resisting the urge to stomp!!) allow me to quote....."For dinner I ate a bowl of salad, maybe one piece of my steamed broccoli, and one bite of my pork chop." Holy mother of divine inspiration - one bite!!! God I am soooo far away still lol... Well done you... its always great to know that success is possible and achievable and waiting for us just up around the proverbial corner. And well done to the trusty comrades also.. *rides out on my imaginary steed yelling - one for all and all for.......* (yes insanity ran in me family for 'twitch' years and years!!)....
