I am grateful my new job has flexible hours. Logged ten hours the first day, despite having to leave midday to deal with an emergency. The owner is very pleased with my work. She said, "Thank you for your good work. I am very relieved you are here. My heart was worried, but now I feel glad." She went on, "I believe we will know each other a long time."

It feels really good to be there.

Good for YOU! My daughter just recently was complaining about her job. I asked what was wrong and she said "I don't feel like they appreciate me". I told her not to get her expectations up about THAT. It seems like few and far between places that actually SHOW appreciation beyond the paycheck.....

I think that's what Pope Francis is talking about these days. Showing appreciation each day to the people around us. Not just the homeless and helpless, but also the everyday people we meet in our daily lives. Mazeltov!

Great news LadyinDenim....It is so great to work for someone that appreciates you and in a stress free place. I miss working so bad. May look into finding a part-time job after we get moved at the end of the month.

Holy cow what an amazing thing to be told! Awesome Lady! And great drop too. Amazing how much easier/better our lives can be when we have a good job/boss.

Isn't it just amazing the difference some kind words and appreciation can make in your day. It fills up your "goodness" reservoir and then it becomes easier to go out and share that good feeling with others. Nurturers need nurturing too! I'm pleased that you're pleased. Safe landings.

I am taking it a day at a time. The new job doesn't replace the old one. I would love to reduce my schedule at the nursing home, but it's too early to make that decision.
