Called in sick to work today. Have had a lovely time. A leisurely walk after the sun had risen, a bit of gardening and grocery shopping , cleaned the car and even started cleaning out my shed and put together a shelving unit for it. Will splurge on steak and veggies for tea as I have a blood donation next week. I have over 10 weeks of sick leave owing as I usually drag myself in regardless, so do I feel guilty? absolutely not! Will I do it again? Hell yeah 😃

You definitely shouldn’t feel bad. Sick leave can also be used for mental health days so you don’t get burned out. I’m glad you had an amazing day!

It really took the pressure off my weekend. I am usually up at 5am. But I slept through until 8 on my “sickie” and 9 the next day. I have been trying to do too many things and it just all gets on top of me sometimes. I have things on every day after work this week and just announced this morning that he can take the Friday after Oz day off after all, giving us a 4 day weekend to go camping and relax. Really looking forward to that, BUT, I had already booked it off and planned to just spend some time around the house trying to get stuff done. So pleased I had made some progress on chores on my “sickie” I have spend 6 hours this weekend on the water pressure machine (god I love that thing) cleaning down my wooden outdoor planters and seating. Now I just have to get some oil on it. But I can hardly move so have come inside and might just veg before tea then prepare myself for work tomorrow.
