Yesterday I received test results:

Invasive Ductal Carcinoma

Abnormal cells growing through duct walls, invading breast tissue creating the currently observed masses.

Doesn’t appear to be outside of breast, thank my lucky stars…

Cells proved to be signaled by estrogen and progesterone; hormone blockers (ie. Tamoxifen) recommended as first course of action. Waiting for results of protein gene (her-2 neu) test to see if another target treatment will be recommended.

Lumpectomy and radiation will be scheduled after the new year. Chemo/systemic treatment will be considered upon breast mri results, if requested by the tumor board.

My weight loss journey is no longer a big concern to me. Living my best life, for as long as possible, so I can continue to get to know who my beautiful young daughter will become, is now what both weighs me down and lifts me up.

All people with breasts: please get your mammograms. You can request them at any age; don’t let doctors ignore any concerns you may have due to age, etc. Stay healthy. Love to the best of your ability, and try to not take any of your gifts in this life for granted. Share. Celebrate. Repeat.
