Red River Cereal started in Manitoba, Saskatchewan in 1924. The name comes from The Red River, which runs through Winnipeg. I grew up eating RR Cereal. My favourite hot cereal for >60 years... but after it sold to Smuckers in 1995, the recipe changed, the grind level changed too. I grew to enjoy the US Smuckers version but it is now gone too, as it was discontinued by Smuckers in 2020. I am enjoying it, but my container is almost empty.😢😢😭. I will try to recreate it, mixing the 3 Smuckers ingredients, cracked wheat, cracked rye, flax seed (crushed & whole). Here is link:
