It's sunny outside here again & I'm feeling sunny and bright again inside too! Thanks for the words & notes of encouragement -- what would I do without all of you!?! I can't say enough how much it means to me to know I have this place to vent, be sad & gloomy or just blurt out whatever it is I'm feeling, and know I'll be understood & accepted in a way that those who don't struggle with weight & eating issues don't understand.

While I know I'm not defined by a number on the scale, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I'm still at goal -- I finally had the courage to get back on the scale this morning. Prior to my detour at the end of my trip, I was successfully eating & logging my mindful eating throughout. Using the app on my phone made it easy & discreet (guess that says something about our society as its very common place to pull out for phone & type in a few notes raising no questions vs pulling out a manual notebook -- but I was with my boys (all 3 of them) much of the time who use their phones for everything). The logging also is a quick reminder for me to eat mindfully with intention & attention. As I know I've said before, focusing on eating mindfully really works for me when traveling and/or eating out.

I did start to re-read the highlights of the mindful eating book that started it all for me, Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat, and I realize I'm still eating restrictively, but still not ready to go elsewhere yet -- just food for thought... literally!

We're out for dinner tonight (with friends for a birthday), tomorrow night (just DH & my 2 boys to celebrate Mother's Day as my oldest flies back to school Sunday morning) then Sunday Mother's day brunch with MIL after the airport run. So, I'll get more practice eating out mindfully & logging on my app. Changing old habits is a process (one that feels very slow at times), but each step in the right direction for me gets me closer to the new habits I'm trying to build.

And getting back to not changing what works for me... I'll start today praying for serenity --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

And I'll continue praying, breathing, logging, posting & expressing on this one day, meal, moment, bite &/or emotion at a time. xoxoxo

Morning kiddo. You sound in better spirits. It us funny how tapping on the phone is do much more accepted than a notepad - pull out paper & pad and people get paranoia don't they? Funny. It's sad though that it's become so commonplace that I recd a atext message of someones death the other day - it seemed so wrong. I feel old LOL Have a wonderful day.
