I found that when it comes up grey and dark grey, although not purple it’s positive. I mark it positive at the doctors but just won’t enter a value. 

Might be expired or have been exposed too much air/light. Apparently, they expire after 60 days and too much air/light exposure ruins them. Depending on your level of ketosis, they should show a light peach, fuschia/magenta color, or deep purple if they work right.  

Also, after a year on keto, you're probably fat-adapted, meaning that you're burning ketone bodies for fuel (rather than glucose). As a result, fewer ketone bodies are available for excretion via urine. Skip the urine tests; use a meter to evaluate ketosis. Save $ by testing intermittently -- or even less so if you're faithful to the keto WOE. Of course, the real test is how you *feel* and how your weight has been been.

Those are bad strips! Get some new ones, and you’ll see that pretty pink/purple color you want! 😊 

Once you become keto adapted, you use the ketones for energy, so very little shows in your urine. Get a blood tester like the keto mojo for accurate results.
