Help ! I'm sticking to the Keto way of eating but I don't seem to be losing the weight. I see all the success stories, and it's getting depressive. I don't know what I'm doing wrong!!

Do you track everything you eat? And depending on what macro calculator you use you could have the “wrong” type clinical verses nutritional Keto Protein is the goal to meet Carbs are a limit And fat is the lever 50g per day for optimal health but if you eat your full fat macros then your body has no reason to burn its own fat for fuel

Thank you for your reply, yes I am tracking any food I eat. I'm managing to keep my carbs down, protein is a little harder, eating enough fats isn't that easy, but I've done it pretty good. One of the problems is my life is sedentary as I am in a wheelchair. But I'm also determined!! 🤔

autumnpaintz other than the wheelchair I'm in the same situation. I very little about what I'm doing and it seems like there are many different ways to do this keto diet. I've also found that getting the right nutrient quantities are quite difficult. but one thing I can say is all of us will try to support you and inform you on the different methods. Try really hard not to obsess on what the scale says to much. it's demoralizing if you let it rule your day. ask yourself do you feel better today? that's what matters most. for me IF seems to be the successful method. You can do this 👍

Hi there - just wanted to say I've been following a carb cycling program - not as restrictive, I don't think - still recording macros, and I haven't incorporated exercising yet, but I've lost 5 pounds and about 9 inches in a couple weeks. And feel like I'm eating more food than ever. Let me know if you want to find out more. It's an option - still good food, just a wee bit more flexible and forgiving - still with results!

Hey, Autumnpaintz, I too am having no success with ANY diet, but at least with Keto I'm keeping stable at 210. I see 4 things working against me: my post-menopausal age of 58 years, a sedentary lifestyle due to back, hip and knee injuries, a lifesaving medication I need to take that the doctor warned me would cause weight gain, and a Fatty liver. This last one is a pretty serious factor in losing weight, as your liver is one of the major cleaning systems of your body. Do a bit of research, get yourself tested for liver, thyroid and other metabolic issues, and over all, DO NOT BLAME YOURSELF. I truly believe that people like you and I, who try our hardest and stay faithful to our diets, will someday be vindicated. I am positive there will be a cure for those of us who honestly don't overeat and don't eat things like cake and chips. Stay strong and remember, good, clean eating isn't just about weight loss, it's about keeping our bodies strong and healthy.

maybe keto just doesnt work for you.. possibly not compatable with your body type.. maybe it's time to try a different approach..

loosing weight isnt about doing some diet or keto beacuse as soon as you eat normal again your putting pounds back on . you need to be in a calorie deflict by 100-500 daily eat veggies fruit lean protien lots of water and you will have results and you will be able to keep it off.

Why would I go back to “normal” eating if that is what gave me diabetes, metabolic syndrome, hormonal imbalances etc. The way I eat is a lifestyle change.

I find keto quite a normal way to eat. I simply avoid all the processed foods in the grocery store. stay away from gluten and sugar. which means eating meat and veg. pretty normal and sustainable through a life time. I see it as a life change not a diet as well A6evergreen.

also check out Maria Emmerich's book ketogenic cooking . it is chock full of info. not just recipes but explanations about how keto works. menu plans and food options. it's my bible and really good reference material.

are you weighing your food? when I stall or regain its because I'm actually overeating. I'd rather not use a kitchen scale but it seems I just don't have a work around that works
