When I first joined FS I did not give an email address because I did not want to be receiving a lot of notifications, but am only guessing that is my problem. Now when I try to change my settings to add fiber and net carbs, it tells me “Invalid format for email address”, and the only option I am given to click is “okay”. I have done this dozens of times since one person suggested not to give up. Yesterday I closed out FS and went back in a couple of times: whenever I signed in with my name/title and password with FS it went right back in and still would not change my settings, so did not “reboot”, and can't find any place to put in an email address. It would be worth getting notifications to be able to add fiber and net carbs in my account. Then I tried putting “Join” instead of “Sign in” hoping to put in my email address. It looked like it was erasing everything, because it was asking for my stats like weight, etc. to make a whole new account. I left it blank and closed that tab, because I hated to lose everything: my followers, who I am following and the friends I am making. To get fiber/net carbs off another site, I would have to list every little ingredient like the vegetables in soup, gravy, and even things I make that traditionally have potatoes or noodles that I leave out like in clam chowder, or chicken soup. By the way, I am using a laptop. Won't I lose every thing if I join again? Any suggestions?

Go to My Settings and at the top right hand side there are 2 selections Email & Password. You should be able to add it there. As far as fiber you can add that column at the bottom of the same My Settings page. Just click the box for Fiber

A little more detail: This is what you see when you are at FatSecret on a computer (not a phone app) -- Go to the "My FatSecret" tab, top/left. On the right side of that page, you'll see a green rectangle headed "My Fatsecret" that contains the subheadings "My Diet Calendar," "My Journal, and "My Community." Now, scan your eyes down further, *passed* the green rectangle, where you'll see "My Messages" and "My Toolbox." [SEE NEXT COMMENT]

At the bottom of "My Toolbox," click the last item, "My Settings." You will then be at the page entitled "My Account - Change Settings." To the right of that title, in smaller blue font, you'll see "Email | Password". Click "Email." You will then be at *another* page *also* entitled "My Account - Change Settings" with a yellow (or cream-colored) box entitled "Email." [SEE NEXT COMMENT]

In the box entitled "New Email Address," you will see your ScreenName ("Snowwhite100"). Delete your ScreenName from that field and type in your email address. Then, in the next field, you MUST type your *current* password. Once your password is correctly entered, click the green button that says "Save." [SEE NEXT COMMENT]

FINALLY, close your browser window, open a new one, and log in to FatSecret with your email address *or* your ScreenName plus your password. [I HOPE THIS HELPS!]

Thank you both 00Marx00 and Miraculum for your instructions. It made all the difference and yes, it worked. I am enjoying FS more than I ever thought I could, and this will help me so much. Wow, what a blessing.
