I feel like Ive been eating like crap and not moving, so Im not sure how the scale is being kind to me. I have noticed that a few things are fitting better. Its not a huge change in weight, but its enough.
I ran my 5 mile race on the 4th and came in dead last. My only goal was to finish in the time frame that they gave, and I did that by one minute haha. I was definitely not prepared, but not in the way that I thought. Im going to keep trying though, and I think that Im ready to get back into the gym and start picking up some weights. I started using an app called Gentler Streak and its showing me that I push myself too hard, every time I work out. Its hard to balance that though when I have the energy and drive.

Its been a couple of weeks since I popped in. We went on vacation to N. Michigan for about a week and Ive been really lazy since haha. I met with the run club on Saturday and I hadnt done anything for 2 weeks which was crazy how fast that added up, and how easy it was not to realize. We got in almost 3 miles though, and that was my longest/best yet.
Ive been trying to eat better, but Ive been letting myself get so hungry and Im eating whatever I can get my hands on (or so it seems). On the flip side though, Ive been snacking on protein bars and getting to-go boxes so Im probably doing better than I think I am. I need to start logging and see exactly what Im eating, but for now Ill take my loss and be happy about it!

Up a little because its HOT and weve been grabbing quick food - aka deep fried food. We dont have central air anymore so I lug 3 window units in and out each year. I think that I have tendonitis in my knee so Im trying to keep from agitating it more but I had to get at least a couple of them in. So Im the only one without a unit right now and its been pretty miserable but it is what it is. Im hoping that I can get it in tonight after work.
Running update:
I went on Saturday and ran with a trainer at the park. I think that running faster and taking longer strides is what made my knee angry, but it was already a little mad at me so who knows. We got in 2 miles of walk/jog/"run" and that was pretty good. Im still freaking out about the 5 mile race coming up because Im definitely not there yet. My kid told me - why are you so worried about it? What happens if you dont make it/finish? Who cares? And shes right, it doesnt matter to anyone but me. I just want to finish in the timeframe but I havent even walked 5 miles in ages so I have no idea how long that will take me. I know I cant jog 5 miles. I cant jog 1 mile without walking. And I have to keep myself from training because I need to let my body rest and repair but I just want to GOOOOOOO. Its so hard! At least I can get in a walk every day.

Feeling much better today. Ankles dont really hurt anymore and my knee feels better. I went for a walk on lunch and the only thing that was bothering me are the bug bites on the backs of my legs where my pants rubbed!
Trying to make a few small changes like:
*Only 1 cup of coffee a day, unless its with Zero Creamer (I use a lot of creamer).
*Only eating ice cream once a week - I was getting out of control there for a bit. I have some frozen snacks to help with this if needed.
*Add more veggies. I know this is pretty basic, but Im trying to add veggies anywhere I can.
*Stay active. Go for walks even when Im sore, even if its only for a few minutes.
So far Im doing ok, but I havent had a challenging day yet. That will be the real test. Also, going on vacation soon so thats two full days of being in the car. I dont want that to derail the progress Im FINALLY starting to make.
