Went by the Deli today to pick up a couple items. It was around noon and I hadn't eaten yet. Big mistake. Yep! You guessed it, there on the hot table was freshly made meat loaf all wrapped up in take home containers. I grabbed one and went to the bread department. The fresh made bread had just been stacked and there was some same day WHITE bread. Not only was it white bread, it was Wonder White bread. Snatched a small bottle of Mayo and made a dash to my house.
Ripped out two, warm slices on White Wonder, laid a stream of Mayo on one slice and placed the two huge pieces of meat loaf (at least 6 OZs worth on the other slice. Sat on the floor right there and devoured the whole thing in less than a couple minutes. Oh, the joy, the feelings of redemption come, my inner child singing with glee.
20 minutes later. Anyone see the movie Alien? Well, I am sitting on my easy chair gazing at my stomach. I am waiting the slightest movement. I am waiting for the monster to erupt out with a screech and a rendering of flesh from my belly. All 900 calories of it. Oh!, I can survive. It means I am limited to 400 calories for the rest of the day, but I can make it. I have no regrets. We all have to break ranks once in a while.
