Phew! Dodged one so far!! Did have some cake on Boxing Day after saying I wouldn't, but back on the rails now. Was not looking forward to reading the scales this morning, but got my second best wish, the first being losing. Need to bank some calories ready for New Year's Eve now!!! :0D

Brilliant day yesterday; thoroughly enjoyed my birthday with my extended family. 14 of us at dinner, which was delicious. Had quite a lot of pink champagne during the day and my first flour based products since August in the slice of pannetonne and teeny piece of birthday cake less the icing I had afterwards. No idea how many carbs I did and so don't care!!! Back to usual today (no champagne or cake!) without tracking amounts; back to that tomorrow. Had a great time and really appreciated what I ate and drank because I haven't had some of it for so long. Hope everyone had as much fun as I did.
@Samblumberg - can't comment directly on your journal anymore, but don't beat yourself up honey. Tomorrow is another day and if it takes a little bit longer to get where you want to go, then so be it. You deserve to enjoy life as do we all and guilt is a negative that belongs in the dustbin!! It's a bit of a boomerang that keeps coming back to hang around us and make a nuisance of itself. Just kick it into touch and try to ignore it and carry on regardless. :0D

Two lunches out since my last weigh in and one dinner I couldn't measure as I normally do and a pound off! Yay!! I know weight takes at least a week to register, so I'm not in the clear, but I've learned enough to make careful choices now and I hope that after the holidays I will still be on track. I intend to enjoy myself on my birthday next week, so I'm expecting a blip in my progress in the short term, but hey, so what?
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and hope that, whatever you are doing, you thoroughly enjoy yourselves. Leave guilt behind the door, just carry common sense in your pockets and have a brilliant time.
