Don't you just love it when you FINALLY have had enough, you FINALLY are ready for a change, you FINALLY think you've found a system that will work for long-term change and your best friend craps all over it?

I got told today (by a woman easily 50-60 lbs heavier than me) That counting calories "never works" that i should follow this diet or that diet, that whole wheat bread is a no no and I should eliminate sugar entirely.

I'm sorry...what? What I WANTED to say was "because that's working so well for you?" or "Okay, you can pay for me to do Jenny Craig thanks!"

What I said was "well Ive tried everything else, so I'm going to give calorie counting and portion control a shot."

Its just NOT realistic for me to eliminate sugar altogether. I mean come on! My family calls me cookie monster because I have never met a chocolate chip cookie i couldn't be BFFs with! I have tried these extreme changes and I ALWAYS FAIL. I hate not having the support!

Shes also been doing a lot of "skinny shaming" recently... posting memes about how women who fit in a size zero aren't "real." "Oh I am sorry I can't shop in those places, I actually eat!!!"

Im starting to wonder if all this will get directed at me now. Is this what I have to look forward to if I lose the weight?

This is why no one else knows I'm dieting....

So discouraged.
