On Gleevec for 5 months as of 10/24. Have 2 scans coming up CT abdomen on 11/2 to check for tumor size and CT Angio on 11/5 to see the status of the clots in my lungs. The extreme fatigue and bone/muscle ache is starting to wear me down. If it makes any sense, the exhaustion is exhausting. I'm getting crotchety lol.

if you notice, I've not entered any weight lately and that's because of the medication, Gleevec, that I'm taking to shrink the alien. It messes up weight loss and I am more concerned with stability at this point. I can fluctuate anymore from 2 to 7 pounds in a day which messes up my brain even though I know it's not a real gain. I go by how my new smaller size jeans fit rather than what the scale shows. I also keep reminding myself that this isn't forever and that that once the alien is surgically removed, I can continue my journey less encumbered.
I go back for another CT scan in November to see if it's shrunk enough to safely do the surgery with a good outcome for me. All in all, extreme fatigue, body aches and puffiness is a small tradeoff for a chemo drug that is working. I'll keep plugging along with a smile on my face and laughter in my soul.

Had my f/u visit with the surgeon, CT scan showed my alien shrank from 5.3cm to 3.6cm YAY!!! I stay on the Gleevec for another 3 months and then do another CT scan. He was really happy with the report and with my weight loss to date.
