I'm switching from Atkins 40 to a basic low carb diet. Following 3 months on nutrisystem which gave me a 14 pound weight loss, I began an Atkins 40 regimen and although I haven't gained weight on this plan, I'm really not losing either, after 5 weeks my weight is almost the same. Last night I had a small "pig out", nothing drastic but this tells me that I'm heading for disaster if I stay on this course as I seem to be depriving myself of some things I didn't know I wanted.
On Nutrisystem I was eating about 1200 calories per day with 25-30 grams of fiber but their portions and nutrients were controlled and I'll have to try to mimic those ratios.
Today I'm beginning a 1200 per day calorie diet, basically low carb, that is under 100 total carbs and probably close to 70 net carbs most days. I'll try to plan menus and record them in advance each day to ensure I'm meeting ratios and it will be a little time consuming for the first week or so until I get the feel for the proportions, but here goes.

Slight weight gain this week, don't know what to make of it. I know I'm following plan correctly and am in ketosis.
I expect that adjustments are being made in transition from Nutrisystem at 1200 calories per day to Atkins at 1400-1500 per day. I feel slimmer, tummy is tighter and thighs feel slim in my jeans, won't measure till I complete the month. Also I'm making things , recipes which have introduced a different set of ingredients, although low carb, into my eating regime.
As I move closer to goal and have less to lose, it comes off more slowly. That's ok, I'll take the time I need to be successful.

Finished first week of transition from Nutrisystem to Atkins 40 and managed to lose .2 lbs. I think a great result considering I've gone from consuming 1200 calories per day per week to 1400-1500. must admit that I'm having difficulty to eat 40 grams of carb so far. I'm baking things and I'm still working on meal planning but even with trying to get in a salad every day and at least 2 vegetables at supper, I still am only consuming 30-34 gms at best, so far.
All in all, it's going well and I'm sure I've achieved ketosis although I haven't any ketone strips. Let's see how the next week goes.

I just finished 3 months of Nutrisystem and it was very successful. I lost 15.2 lbs and many inches. The main reason I chose this plan was because of the pre portioned food and the lack of preparation required.
I'm now reverting to the Atkins 40 plan and although I've been eating over 100 carbs per day on Nutrisystem and still losing weight, I want to make sure cravings do not return.
Day one today with about 5-6 lbs to my goal. We'll see how it goes.
