I'm honestly considering giving up my diet I mean I've not stuck to it this whole week and just feel like giving it up I mean I still count cals but I've always been told as long as I'm under 2500 I'll maintain this weight plus I'm at the gym 4-6 days a week (not counting this week) and I exercise at home nearly EVERYDAY I don't know. I want to stop dieting but there's this voice that's small in my head saying keep going and I don't know what to do

Don’t give up!! Lifestyle changes that are sustainable are easier to maintain than a “diet”. Not every bad habit needs to be changed immediately. Not every day will be a day of perfection in terms of food intake. Treat yourself occasionally and don’t beat yourself up when slip ups happen as long as they don’t become a lifestyle. You’ve got this!!! Keep going.

I agree- you’ve done so well, stick with it! Don’t feel like a failure because of one off week.

it's just so hard I ate so much chocolate this week it's rediculose and it's making me consider stopping the diet because the scale keeps telling me different Every week

I have weeks like that all the time. It’s important to remember that you can do it! You can get back on track quite quickly. I understand how it feels to want to give up after doing badly but giving up altogether honestly just makes you feel worse! So keep going, you’re strong! It’s hard but you can fight and resist temptation! It gets easier the more you do it!

Alec, if you just couldn't bear sticking with the diet you've been on, maybe you're sick of it. Try a recipe variation on one or two of your favorite things in the diet you're on: maybe it'll inspire you to try more variations, and 'poof' you've got something exciting again! And think of a different word than 'diet' to re-ignite your purpose---how about 'plan' or 'strategy' or 'body fuel' or 'energy boost' or 'nourishment' instead of a word like diet that is associated with deprivation and restriction?

I guess there is that way to look at it sweetpea but I constantly restrict food I enjoy that's why I crave them more I know but I'm just losing the feeling of restricting them and eating chocolate is making it worse I go to just have one or two 10 mins later I'm on my 15-20th piece. And I guess that's right and I do do that but looking back now I've had more bad days than good days there's days where 2-3 times a week I'd go 500-1000 cals over the recomended daily intake on this app(usually around 2200) and I feel so guilty I already get anxiety over my weight and the guilt triples it. And it's usually milk but I do prefer dark

Only reasons i usually eat milk chocolate is 1.) My mother in law works in a chocolate factory and gets a huge bag of tubs of chocolate for seasonal thing( Easter, Valentine's, Halloween, christmas) 2.) Dark chocolate is expensive for me just now so it's hard for me

People ask me if I'm still dieting, and I say "Nope - never was on one. I've made a lifestyle change that includes eating differently, actually - better". I still have my Friday evening reataurant treat, but during the work week I behave (for the most part). I have tremendous support from my hubby which makes it easier. I don't think I've ever craved a particular food, but there are times I intentionally do not pick up certain foods - just because I feel a little wobbly with my plan. Maybe M in L needs to know that her gesture of kindness is causing you some grief. I find people are usually understanding when they are asked for help in accomplishing your goal. Don't give up - look how far you've come. And don't feel guilty - you're almost there.

Honestly change the foods that you eat! Stick to your meats and greens! Stay away from the grains and dressing and candy etc! I didn’t find my diet helped kick into effect until 3-4weeks of sticking to a diet! Keep trying and pushing give yourself a lot more credit and time your worth every second!

I've been on my diet for 5 months and I have lost a lot of weight, but. I feel like giving it up because I have lost a lot of weight I eat very little ( compared to what o used to) during the day and eat chocolate at night and I feel guilty I know it's good to have a little chocolate during the day but at times I take it far I agree I need to make a life style choice that's why I want to give up my diet because to be fair it has been unhealthy for me. I.e I burn around 3000 cals a day and ate around 1000-1300 a day so if have a calorie deficit of around 1300-1500 which i was told is really bad

Don't vilify chocolate. It is full of antioxidants, as long as you eat 90% cacao content chocolate (and therefore no dairy and very little sugar). It could be you're low on magnesium as chocolate has a lot of that mineral. Alec12 I understand your dilemma. I suggest a week off your routine and indulge in what you feel you've been missing. Then get back on the wagon. Sometimes the body responds well to this kind of jolt. Also,I need to add that your exercise rigour is likely hurting you. Exercise of the extent you have mentioned increases your cortisol, which in turn triggers insulin. Both are bad when you're not in a dire fight or flight situation (ie, running from a bear). Keep eating 1000-1300 cals a day, keep fat around 65-70% of calories, and net carbs around 10%. Protein also shouldn't be too high (around 75g but you can calculate this online), otherwise it converts to glucose and is used like carbs. Hope that helps. No matter what you, always keep trying, even if you fall off the wagon for a while.

I think that's what I did Stella this whole week I've over indulged in chocolate candy and crisps/chips starting again tomorrow I'm going back on my diet for 3 weeks then I'll have a few days rest off the diet. I think what I did I threw my body in at the deep end I went from eating 3000cals a day to eating 1000 and that kicked my ass a little xD. But now that my body had a taste of 1000 cals a day i think I can do it even 2000 cals a day would be ok for me now as I'm training to be an athlete.

The last time I felt like you do, and gave up, I gained 80 pounds. Don't do it! I still would cut down on exercise to 3 days a week and see what happens, and make sure you get between 1200 and 1500 calories a day (good calories). And a cheat meal once in awhile.
