I have always known my weakness was at night when I am winding down - I start craving sweets or alcohol or something to reward myself or relieve stress, depending on the day. Yesterday was a good day exercise wise - I did yoga, swam after that for an hour and then since it was actually warmish (still no sun) I took a walk before dinner...... but then around 7:30 I started watching the Olympics and started to crave peanut butter cookies. I remembered a microwave three ingredient version and tried looking it up - thought I could make a single cookie....but didn't find anything that looked good, so went back to my tried and true joy of cooking. I made them healthier by replacing some flour with oatmeal and flax seeds, then threw in some pecans. I only baked six cookies but they were unbelievable! So I couldn't eat just one........ I know that when it starts getting lighter in the evenings I will get out more and not be at home sitting around, but I need to make an effort to just be gone in the evenings so I don't give in to these cravings. During the day I am fine. I still have the rest of that dough sitting in my fridge. Hopefully my daughter will stop by so I can unload the rest on her. I feel so much better when I exercise and try to go at night but it is really hard for me to get up and go when it's dark and cold out there.
