On a more serious note, please somebody help me understand the maths... I have embarked on a banting eating plan to assist with my weight loss, the ällowed" portion for carbs is max 25g a day. If I load avos on the daily food intake the reading is approx. 17g of carbs... is this good carbs? So if I have 2 avos, will I ever lose weight?????

if you follow a ketogenic diet you can have more fats then protien. banting is more protien based.

I'm following a low keto diet. 30g is the max limit. fats are higher.I go as high as 90g healthy fats.Protein is 1g per kg.do if you weigh 90kg its 90g I weigh 86kg but I have on average 90g protein.Try it.carbs must be complex carbs and only post workout otherwise low carb yo none

@haclene it depends on your carb tolerance. Banting is keto for people who are very carb intolerant (like diabetics @ 30g carbs per day) or just lower carb for people who are not intolerant (like 100g carbs per day). It's a spectrum and person specific. Also, Banting is not high protein its high fat. You just have to figure out your level of intolerance (based on weight or feeling good etc) and adjust the carb level accordingly (from full keto to just moderately low carbs).
