Here is my current situation; I went for my monthly checkup. The doctor said I was doing OK - percentage of muscle or the muscle to fat ratio has improved. My blood work is all good but I am retaining water. She said I am not drinking enough water and that I am retaining a lot of water weight.

My dilemma is that I drink water constantly, or at least that is how it seems. At my desk I have a bottle of Propel, I guess I drink about 32 ounces a day. I know we are supposed to get liquids through the foods we eat, and I eat foods that are high in liquid content, such as watermelons, oranges, yogurts, etc. I do not salt my foods and I am just wondering what more I can do without having to actually force myself to drink more water - does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it a little easier? I just feel waterlogged sometimes.

I would just say there's no way around it, ditch the propel, drink about a gallon of water a day or 1/2 your body weight.

I agree that may be too much propel. Really only the top athletes deplete enough to have more electrolyte drinks. If it's an extra hot day or your worked out and sweated a lot, then some is good. Otherwise stick to the 1/2 your body weight in ounces of just water. Hard to do, I know, I have to force myself to drink enough most of the time too.
