Day 3 (of 14) - Low Carb High Fat

Yesterday was excellent. I came in at about 25g carbs. I had my after dinner sweet craving again. I bought a berry mix from the store; straw & blue berries. I weighed 1oz of straw and .5oz blue, and ate those with some herbal tea. It really seemed to help.

I woke up RAVENOUS this morning. I refuse to blame the berries. Probably just my body adjusting. I made scrambled eggs cooked with butter and added some NICE cheddar. It was perfect. I managed to skip adding my sugar to my tea this morning, so today should be AWESOME carb-wise.

Preparation is key, and so far, I am doing great in that dept. I've already added my snacks and lunch to my food journal. At the end of the day I remove the snacks I don't eat. That way I've got a buffer. If I am super hungry and eat all my snacks, then I don't feel guilty. But if I'm not hungry, I can remove the snacks I didn't eat and look like a calorie counting goddess!

Late night carbs. Hmm. Why refuse to blame the berries? That thought process is justifying you eating carbs to satisfy cravings. Even if below 20. JUST my opinion, don't have to agree, its my personal experience. Do what ever works for you. I hope today is great for you too!

@lizzy; You are probably correct. They berries were most likely the reason I woke up starving. And I guess there really isn't anything wrong with being hungry in the morning. Every effect has a cause, and ignoring it doesn't make it go away.

LCHF is here to curb hunger, don't fight it or sabotage your hard work. Who wants to be HUNGRY, NOT ME! It SUCKS. HA. Once you do all your research and have gotten all the facts why your hunger increases, (which you might have already done) things will totally click! I have been adding a 100-150 calorie fat snack at night so i can curb those early hunger pains. The high fat snack is so my insulin doesn't spike reversing all the good i did during the day. I whip 2-3 tablespoons of heavy cream and a dash of liquid splenda... its like a whip cream snack, but no carbs. I am aiming on giving up splenda some day, but not now :-) I also hope to eliminate that late evening snack as soon as i can. Its the best i can do besides scooping out coconut oil from the container and that really doesn't do much for me :-) I learned my hunger is triggered from that dang insulin spike and leptin after any insulin producing food... grrr. I'm doing so much better but i went through immense hunger before i got strict. I think the last few days have been super turning points for myself. YEAH. Good luck, your starting out great!

Good job. I don't do the lchf but last night I made a green tea w a tbls of coconut oil to help me from snacking after dinner. It worked. I made sure I could afford it which, this morning my scale is on point so no worries. Keep up the great work and stick to it I hear a lot of ppl with success on lchf but they r/were very strict.
